How does the swing attach to the set? Do i need to buy carabiners or s hooks, or does the swing chain come with them?

It doesn't come with them so you need to buy them too. Either s hooks or carabiners or something like that would work, just be sure they're rated to handle enough weight.

how far apart should two swings be?

I put mine at least an arm length apart as the kids stretch their arms and they can swing side way sometimes. At least 3 feet apart I'd say.

How many inches wide are the swing seat ?

The seat is a long narrow oval shape. 26" long with a width of 6" in the middle and narrowing to 3" at the ends.

Can someone please tell me how far to hang the hooks apart?

We just hung them on our existing swing set.
