Belfry Top Hat Theater Quality 100% Wool in Black Grey or Pearl

The hat is well made with nice attention to detail, and fits appropriately per the sizing chart and standard hat sizes.It was unfortunately also a very nice hat shipped by Amazon with only a plastic bag around it and placed sideways into a box that was too small, so it arrived with a curled brim and made the hat a bit cockeyed.

I had to actually try both the XL and the XXL as my measurements fell directly in between the two sizes. The XL fit but it was very snug and got uncomfortable really quickly. The XXL was loose (came down over the tops of my ears easily), however it was definitely more comfortable and since the hat is very well made and robust, it has weight, and I actually attached a 1cm thick foam adhesive pad to the inside across the forehead area and it fit perfectly afterwards. My head size measurements were just over 24”.

Grey fades in the sun. I like the hard round crown and piped rolled edge. A heavy downpour would rinse out the starch, but the felted wool is fine in drizzle/sprinkles. Shown for sale with feather trim on bow which was missing from shipment. I'd buy another, but they stopped making them with the broad black cross-grain silk band.The clothes introduce the man, and this hat has made quite a few introductions - usually "I like your hat."--(o=8> wiz.
