Use the ice in a circular motion over and around the area needing treatment. Use only for about 7 or 10 minutes. Stop if your skin starts to turn white as this could be frostbite. In my reading I understand that the combination of cold and the massage increases the circulation and allows the penetration of the cold in a much shorter time.
