Too many unusual or attractive playing cards aren't good for actually playing games. This deck is very clear and legible, it's very easy to tell the suits apart at a glance. It's one of the best black decks I've seen so far.

I'm a mom of an 8 year old who adores scorpions (the arthropod, not the band). I feel like I'm slowly clearing Amazon out of scorpion products. She thought the scorpion holding the card was the funniest thing ever. She asked me to get her a deck of cards and we looked through some and she said they would be hard to see since she was learning to play games. Then this one popped up and she was in love.I taught her how to play rummy the day they arrived and I never lose at rummy and she managed to beat me her first game. And I wasn't going easy on her! I don't think she could have picked up the game so quickly if the cards were not so easy to understand and felt so comfortable holding. She even managed to learn to shuffle.

My kids play lots of card games, and every now and then learn a card trick from Youtube. These cards make the games and tricks more fun. The cards are good, solid stock, a little slick and textured, that feel good and move smoothly over each other. The pattern is totally cool and the cards themselves are black with gold or white markings. Not your average deck. The two extra cards (2 aces, a joker, and a bizarre nine) are a nice touch, too.

I ordered these for my 8yr old son who is learning card tricks. They look super cool and have a great feel to them. He is able to do his fan tricks, flourishes, and double and tripple lifts with ease. The black on both the face of the cards and the back make the lifts virtually impossible to detect, even with my trained eye. He's so happy with the purchase! His only complaint is that they are stiff - which I explained was normal for a new deck of cards.

The deck itself is beautiful. While standard royalty bores me, these make up for it by popping off the card with the blue, white and yellow accents. The back is the classic bicycle done in yellow with a full black bleed.It comes with only 1 joker but 3 gaff cards. 2 ace of spades, one with a scorpion holding a card face down and the other with a scorpion holding an ace of diamonds. The other is a card that can be a 6 of diamonds or a 9 of clubs depending on it's orientation. This deck ranks high on my list of favorites. It wants to slip out of your hands if you aren't holding it tightly. The cards dribble, spring and fan beautifully. The black is unforgiving if your double lift is sloppy but I'll definitely purchase another deck to keep safe while I beat up this one.These cards would add some style to your next game of poker, draw some appreciative eyes to your card routine or sit comfortably in your hand as you hide deep in the darkness beneath the Misty Mountains and lovingly stroke them.The 4 out of 5 was due to the shipping. The package arrived 3 days late and had a hole large enough for a deck to slip out of in it's side. While not the fault of the company, I had to dock a star.

This deck is a great everyday deck, street deck, and deck for magic. Though, I feel that the card that can be a "6" or a "9" is kind of useless. Never the less, the other specialty cards are very useful. There is a Ace of spades that has a scorpion that doesn't have anything in its claw, another one with a red Bicycle card in its claw, and one with the red card flipped over to reveal an ace of diamonds.
