Temperamental HDMI port
I have tried this with an HP and a Dell laptop. This HDMI port on this hub seems to require uninterrupted (pass-through) power for it to work properly. Interruption to the power supply results in the laptop then failing to recognise the HDMI port (the USB A ports still work fine), and it then requires disconnection from the USB C host port and disconnection of the power input for the HDMI port to somehow reset. At $12 it is great value though if you can live with the problematic HDMI port.
