First of all, it came with no directions or safety guidelines. I emailed seller and received a link to a video in another language with no subtitles. I searched on my own and found a video in English...figured out how to open it. My first attempt at opening it shot it across the room with such violent force that it traveled 15 feet....I am a teacher and luckily there were no students present as surely one of them would have been injured. The second time I opened it (after struggling to get it closed again), I tried to hold on to it so it wouldn't fly across the room...and it sliced my thumb open. This is definitely something to be used with extreme caution. I am returning the ones I ordered.

Works great! Reading previous reviews- If you don’t think it’s going to spread that fast, you obviously haven’t looked into it. It clearly states in spring loaded, if you think of spring is not going to be fast you’re a little naïve. The edges are a bit sbut only if you play with Had a hard time closing it the first time but after that it was great!! I did have to research how to close it but I found it in the comments.

Works as described but the metal when exposed is very sharp. the Plastic enamel on mine wore off and cut me once.That being said this thing is powerful! feels like a real cane and opens instantaneously

Dangerous Spring Action
Bought it for my 10 yr. old. When opening the wand to its entire length, the spring action was too strong. Very dangerous spring action. To push in back the wand to its original size, takes some maneuvering and the material used is a bit cheap.

Good, but be prepared.
Works great, this is a professional cane though. If you do not have a firm grasp on it, it can get away from you.
