Great collapsible desk leg!
Not using it for a "standard" application, but it does the job great! I built a fold away section as an addition to a rolltop desk, and needed a leg that could extend to 30" and be stowed when not in use. This is prefect for that! And the 1/4" fitting fits into a 1/4" thread insert you can buy at any hardware store.

Very light and sturdy.
This works well for the few times I need support for my video camera and is more often used by my wife as a walking stick. Works great for both tasks. The box was missing the spike than can replace the rubber tip. Contacted the manufacture. They replied within an hour and a replacement spike was shipped the same day. That is customer service!!

One defect in this product -- and it can easily be fixed
I ordered one of these monopods to replace a carbon-fiber monopod I had used for years, until it recently failed. Found this one on Amazon, and the price was attractive. Received it and tried it out at a family member's sports event, noticed the the jam disc that clamps the camera (or whatever you have) on the pole-top mounting screw was a bit loose. Used the monopod again the following week, and the disc came loose several times. When the game was over, I realized the camera was a bit loose on the mount. Then the mounting 'screw' on top of the pole fell out when I started packing the monopole away. I put all the loose bits in my camera bag while the crowd was passing by; once at home, I took a good look at how this thing is made down in my workshop.I bought this monopod for use specifically with a higher-end Canon digital 35mm mounted to a Canon 70-200 lens using the mounting ring built into the lens. This setup weighs about 15 lbs with no other attachments (flash, lens extender), so a solid mounting is needed to protect several thousand $ in camera gear from potentially crashing to the ground. THE PROBLEM: The monopod's mounting 'screw' extends through the clamping disc is actually the tip of a machined double-diameter stud; there is no bolt head inside the top of the monopod to hold the stud threads solidly in place. The product actually is a very decent overall design, but the threads in the monopod head are noticeably not a tight fit with those on the mating mounting stud. The upper end of the stud has about 5 threads cut in 1/4" x 20 threads per inch (tpi) to mate with the standard threading used at the bottom of most cameras (or large binoculars, etc). Most of this one-piece stud is machined in a slightly larger 3/8" x 16 tpi thread that screws into the monopod head. The result is too much slop between the stud threads and the threads in the head, so the clamping mechanism works itself loose as the pole & camera setup are moved around.THE SOLUTION: I coated the the bottom 8 threads of the larger end of the threaded stud with medium strength thread locker compound, screwed that part back into the top of the monopod to a depth that leaves the clamping disc just a little looseness when screwed down on the small diameter threaded end - just as it originally had. That position is critical, so look at the position of the threaded tip before disassembly and after reassembly. I let the reassembled parts sit for 15 minutes to cure the thread-locker compound, and the problem with loose threads was resolved. The thread-locker compound I used is sold by Loctite, but others make & sell it too - the 'medium' grade is usually color coded BLUE, and it is easily found in small tubes at most auto parts stores. With that fix, this monopod is worth every bit of the price I paid for it. Just in case the manufacturer incorporates this one step and raises the price to collect on the improved value it should have had, I've bought a second one, coated the stud with thread-locker, and reassembled it. Now I have a spare monopod if I ever need one. I still think what I have paid for both of them was a good deal, as it is less costly and more rigid (at any combination of monopod section lengths) than what I paid for the carbon-fiber monopod two decades ago, and that is still being sold, at a somewhat higher price! The feature ratings I put on this product reflects the product as sold; these would now be 5 stars across the board after the fix I made.

Handy, be careful of screw mount
I use this alot with my iPad to record at tournaments, so I am unscrewing the mount alit. The mount screw fell down inside of it when the top piece that holds it on came unscrewed. I had to fish it out from the bottom bc I couldnt get the top section off. I decided to glue the piece down to prevent it from happening again. Other than that issue I have been very pleased.

Useful
The single most useful thing I've got in my bag. Great for on the move support, easy and no muss no fuss like with Tripods. Highly recommend for moving targets, boats, water. Could see being useful for sports.

great monopod / hiking stick
I added a gopro mount to the stick and used it for 360 photos and videos while hiking. The stick fits nicely on the outside of my backpack and expands to longer than I need for normal purposes. The extra length is nice though for 360 photos like the one attached, as it gives me alot of height to get those all around, tiny planet photos.Since I use it for a hiking stick as well as a monopod, the only issue I found was with the spike tip. It comes with a rubber tip, which is what I have screwed into the bottom normally, and a metal spike, which is good for off road hiking. I used it to hike up a mountain to see the volcano in Iceland. It worked but kept loosening. I just kept tightening it. Since then, I added a rubber washer to help keep it locked in place when using the spike tip.I haven't used it upside down, but see that it's nicely designed that the 1/4" camera mount on the top can be unscrewed and placed on the bottom. This means it can be an extra long selfie stick if you want. If you have a 3/8" adapter for a tripod, you can even make this an extension to the tripod since there are 3/8" screw holes on both ends. One other note: the carry bag that come with the monopod is too long, but since the stick fit's nicely on my backpack, there's no need to use it.

Camera screw update
Update: The vendor got back to me the very next day after I complained. They sent me a photo of what the 1/4 to 3/8" screw should have been and we determined I had received the wrong screw. The vendor is sending a replacement. Very satisfied with the monopod and the great customer service. It is light but solid and fully retracted, fits in my backpack. As a retired photographer, I'll feel my age and I use a cane. I also order a handle so the monopod pulls double duty as a cane and monopod!I like this thing a lot but it is useless without the worldwide standard to mount a camera!

I love it but...
I love it but....if you are standing and using a long tele-photo lens like the 70-200 it feels a little flimsy because you have all the sections extended. But if you using a lighter lens or sitting (less extended) it's perfect. I just wish this came with a clasp version in addition to the twist version. Sometimes if you are using a 70-200 and do not tighten it enough it will sag. Then sometimes I tend to over twist and tighten it too much then it's hard to un-tighten it.But the size & weight are perfect!

Da non crederci!!! 🤯
Straconsigliato!Bravissimi continuate così!!! 👍

Very well made telescopic selfie stick
Really well made telescopic selfie stick. Very sturdy. But you have to be careful when extending the pole - start with the thickest sections FIRST! I didn't and I pulled the narrow section out. Took a while and some thinking to figure out how to rebuild the thing! Also, could have been supplied with a 3/8 to 1/4 converter so I can attach my gimbal to the narrow end. I will have to buy that - or use the fat end. But very pleased with the purchase.

Monopiede davvero eccezionale
The media could not be loaded.
