Useful for experienced computer techs fixing this phone
I work in computer repair (mainly servicing HP laptops) and when my charge port died on my phone, I was hesitant to spend several hundred dollars on a new phone when otherwise my phone worked well. So I did some looking up and found that these HTC One M8 phones had a separate daughterboard, and my experience tells me that when this is the case, it makes repairs a lot less expensive. So I ordered this, received it the next day, and installed it -- the teardown of the M8 is a little bit tricky (not for the faint of heart -- there are some ribbon cables that can very easily be torn on the phone if you don't know what you're doing) and put it back together. Unfortunately my own stupidity wound up rendering the MicroSD card slot and the volume buttons useless but I don't really use those features anyway; this is not a fault of the product, but I cannot stress enough that you should know what you're doing and have some finesse before you attempt to work on the M8. It's a tricky device. If you are an expert in electronics repair, this is definitely for you if the charge port or headphone jack goes belly up.The product comes with all the tools you'll need to open up the phone, the only thing it doesn't have is a teardown manual, but a quick Google search can get that for you.Would buy again if necessary. The M8 is still a nice phone even after several years of age and anything I can do to extend its life for this price is certainly worth it.

So far so good, reset your phone's charging logic if needed
I had a hard time determining which of the two versions of this charging port I needed for my Sprint HTC One M8 32 GB, and ended up deciding on this one. After I opened my phone, I realized the original charging port had only one pin and cord connection. Despite this replacement product having two pins (as described), I just used the pin on the right side of the charging port (using the single cord in the phone itself) and everything seems to be working properly.I did run into an issue, though, that I hope helps someone: My battery was drained completely when I replaced the charging port, and before the phone would take a charge, I had to reset the charging logic on the phone. This is performed by pressing the power button, volume up, and volume down buttons all at the same time for approximately 2 minutes. I had almost given up on the phone after I replaced the port and it still wouldn't charge. I thought that either the replacement product was defective or I had installed it incorrectly. But as soon as that reset was performed, all seems to be working perfectly.

Good product, difficult installation.
Would have worked great in my HTC ONE M8 32GB AT&T phone had I not damaged the ZIF connector that this plugs into, I had never taken apart a phone before the M8, and question whether I will again. If you have never taken apart an HTC ONE M8, I'd recommend purchasing this part but taking it to a professional. Even after getting the speaker grills questionably hot with my mini heat gun, they were still a nightmare to remove being glued down. I had the plastic almost molten mind you, let alone pulling the main board assembly from the aluminum case! If I did it again, I now know how, however I would still be extremely skeptical of completing it successfully, even though I have a background in electronics repair. Also would highly recommend a microscope! the tools provided did work, with the exception of the spudgers so I docked one star.

Microphone not working after using this, and dies within 3 weeks.
I likewise had this device replacement not work. The original USB port was bad on my phone, so I bought this to fix it. Installation was difficult as expected. but the microphone did not work after the swap. Further research shows that the microphone is also on this board. So now phone charges with the new USB, but no microphone!!!! Have to use speaker phone, which is a different microphone sensor on the back of the phone. Now 3 weeks later, the USB port has quit, and my phone won't charge. This is not worth the pain to try to swap again, so I am looking now for a new phone. And will try to get a refund for this defective part.

Works!
This was a little tricky to install, my fingers are fat and the screws and connectors are microscopic and the screws are very easy to lose, it took me about 45 minutes to do with plenty of cussing to be heard. You'll need a heat gun and a razor blade to get the phone to come apart. But the extra small screw driver set this bundle comes with are the perfect size.My daughter dropped her M8 in water and the phone just wouldn't recognize the USB plug no matter how she would wiggle or wrap it around her phone, it was a slow death. This connector worked as advertised, use it with a 32GB HTC M8. Her phone charges fine, it didn't mess up the call quality or the headphone jack.Make triple sure those internal wire plugs are pushed in all the way, I almost put the phone back together just to notice one of them pulled off.

Hardware did not work, but tools were nice!
Product was easy to install and the tools were very good. The little screwdrivers in my kit were magnetic, which did help with the tiny hardware.I had a technician install this flex while he was installing a new battery. He said the hardware did not work, and so he reinstalled the original charging flex. I later verified the failure when I tried to install it on my own. The phone did not charge with this hardware installed, but I did reinstall the original. If the refund goes through, I may order the product again, and see if I just got a bad board. These things happen!

Not high quality
This part isn't high quality as stated. Installation was a breeze. Just take your time. I watched all the videos on YouTube before attempting the install. Before putting my phone back together I noticed that the new part wasn't sitting flush like the old part did. So it hung about 2mm off. Didn't have a problem putting the cover back on, though. The tools that came with it were adequate and got my phone apart. After the installation of the new "high quality" charge port I immediately plugged in my charger and my phone started charging like normal. As for the head phone Jack, it works but now sounds out of phase. I've tried using diffrent head phones and still sounded weird.
