I'm planning on using this to wrap crab pots. Will this withstand continuous use in salt water?

This is a good quality of rubber, no doubt USA made. It will hold up to submergence in salt water, but keep an eye on it. Nothing lasts forever especially in salt water. But since your pulling crab pots you'll get ample chance to monitor the condition.

Can this product be purchased in longer rolls?

Not sure. I would not even consider this product for any use other than some sort of decoration. It is very fragile and can't be stretched since it will break.

Want to use this as protection for a boat gunnel. Will contact cement be best adhesive?

Absolutely! I use contact cement all of the time and have no failure yet. You are expecting to never having to take this off I hope.

Can this tape be easily removed without leaving residue behind?

This is NOT tape. This product is just a strip of rubber. No adhesive or anything sticky.
