Better than expected. A beautiful added throw for my beachbedroom

I purchased this for my 18 year old niece who is away at college, and she tells me she loves it. The blanket I purchased is the pale aqua one with the crocheted large scales and the very large fish tail (in the description it is the 71" x 35.5" Goldfish Tail). My niece is 5'9" and she can tuck it under her arms while studying. It, like most of the blankets, is open in the back, so not a true "mermaid tail/sleeping bag", but the tail is long enough to spread over her feet or tuck under for additional warmth. The blanket was well-packaged in 2 sealed bags, one inside the other. It was lovely, and there was no smell as some of the reviews had mentioned. This is the larger of the crochet-effect "Scales" blankets. I have attached photos so you can see the measurements, as many of the reviews had questions. The body itself, from top to join where scales meets the fin, measures 51 inches (4 feet 3"), and the fin itself measures just over 12 inches at it shortest spot, and 20 inches at its longest (the fin points at either end). The blanket is open at the top, and sewn together at the "join" with a hole to stick your feet through. I loved the shape of the fin in the Amazon ad, and although the fin came out of the package a bit wrinkled, the wrinkles quickly loosened up. This design seems to have the longest "fin". I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend the blanket for adults or for children. I cannot be sure, but in my examination of the various blanket designs, it seems that some have smaller fins and longer tail sections to make up the length. That might be important for those that are buying for taller girls. Take a look at the photos to see the detail of the fin scales. It is beautifully made.

I like this item but… I just wish the end had some elastic in the bottom half. Other than that it’s comfortable and snug.
