Value that Works!!!!
Easy to use with lightweight and ease of movement. Stores as easily as an upright vacuum. Simple to follow instructions. Attachments are easy to assemble and clean when needed. Deep cleans well and my carpet is a light color. Scrubbing brushes are great. Carpet dries well since the cleaner sucks up the water thoroughly. Good value compared to prices in local stores. Takes up stains well.

Great. Get lots of shampoo for a big house.
Things I know you want to know: // Worth it? Yes. I paid $129 but would have paid more knowing what I know. // Does it get deep? Yes. I used Oxy carpet cleaner, but man does it clean. // Noticeable difference? Yes! You'll notice that my carpet is much cleaner. But keep in mind that my carpet is gray and beige, so it hides dirt well. But the fact that it's so much brighter is undeniable proof that this machine does a great job. // Easy to learn? Yes. After a while, you'll get the hang of it and know when to release more shampoo on areas that need the extra treatment. But it's easy to use. // Easy to maneuver? Yes! It's light even with a full gallon of water. And it's just like a vacuum. It's surprisingly maneuverable and smooth. No kinks in the motion. Very smooth. // Long cord? Yes. My living room is huge (the furniture is still in the living room in the picture, not in another room), and I only had to plug it in another socket to get around the furniture. // How often to refill? This depends on how fast you are cleaning. Normally you want a slow, deliberate pace. I can go for 10-15 minutes before needing to dump the water. // *** When do I refill? *** You'll know when when it's time to refill when 1: You hear the suction sound change to just being a motor around 2: You'll stop seeing water being pulled in when you back up 3: The orange ball in the dirty water reservoir has risen to the hole. This is a sign that the dirty water is as high as it can go, and the cleaner will stop sucking in more dirty water. // Easy to pour and refill? Yes. You'll develop a quick change routine: pour dirty water; rinse sink while refill water is getting hot; refill and go. There is almost no way to over fill. The engineering has angled the reservoirs in a way that makes this extremely difficult. // Shampoo If you have a big house, I'd say get more than 64 oz of shampoo. There's nothing wrong with having leftovers. For a normal house, 64 should do all the rooms. // Sturdy? Very. I didn't have any mishaps but I stepped on the hose and it did not break. // Stairs? Attachments? I didn't do the stairs yet (hey, my house is big) but I tested the attachments and they are up to the task. The hand scrubber tool has lots of brushes and they rotate with power! I did my couch and it scrubbed out a stain I didn't think would come out. Anyway, I'm tired of writing. Just get it. If this doesn't tell you it's worth it, I don't know what will. I'd like to be with some ladies right now but instead I'm taking the time to write this review because I'm so impressed with it. If you don't like it, you can return it, and you're covered with 2 year warranty, I think. The game I'm watching on the TV just mentioned a Slurpee. Maaan I want one of those right now. You should get one after you get this because you can clean up any mess you make.

Great option, well built and easy to use
I was sceptical about buying this unit due to past brand quality issues but I'm glad I went for it. It showed up on time with simple to follow directions for assembly. The first time use was easy and it brought our carpet back to life. It's sturdy construction and overall size and weight were perfect even for my petite self. It moved easily and the carpet was dry within just a couple hours. I've not used the tools yet but look forward to it.

Pros and cons of the hoover
The Hoover PowerScrub is a solid, user‑friendly carpet cleaner that delivers good value for its size. One of its biggest strengths is how lightweight it is — carrying it up and down stairs or moving it around the house doesn’t feel like a workout. The suction is surprisingly strong for a compact machine, and setup is quick and intuitive, even for someone using it for the first time. Cleaning the unit afterward is also simple, with parts that rinse out easily and attachments that make spot‑cleaning or upholstery work more convenient. That said, it does have limitations. The machine doesn’t pivot or rotate the way a standard vacuum does, so maneuvering around furniture or tight corners takes more effort. Because of that, it’s better suited for cleaning in sections rather than tackling a full room in one go — unless you’re prepared to spend an hour or more. It can also be hard to tell when it has fully extracted the water from the carpet, which may lead to extra passes just to be sure. Overall, the Hoover PowerScrub is a decent, straightforward machine. It’s about the same size as a regular vacuum, easy to use, and effective for routine maintenance or smaller cleaning jobs.

Easy to Use Works Well. Purchased a 2nd One after 11 Years.
I purchased a Hoover PowerScrub Deluxe Carpet Cleaner in June of 2015. I used it frequently in my home. It was easy to use and worked very well. It does take a certain amount of maintenance to keep it working at its best: be sure to give it a good cleaning after each use. The brushes are not easy to clean, but worth the effort to do so. After 11 years of regular use, something broke inside and the the machine will no longer turn the brushes. (The brushes will turn by hand, but the machine won't turn them.) I decided to purchase a new machine of the same kind since it worked so well for me. I'm keeping the old machine to use like a shop vac to suck up water, but now have a new machine for carpet cleaning use.

Very happy with Hoover!
My husband and I are in our 70s, do not have pets, don't have high traffic areas, and we don't have visitors with long hair. I previously bought a Bissell shampooer to clean our bedroom's wall-to-wall carpet. Figuring out how to use it took a while, and it was not easy. The directions were minimal. It did a fair job. The second day that we were going to use it but we could not get it to work. We returned it. We had to pay $30 for a box to ship it back because the handle does not detach. We were not happy with the extra expense because the Bissell shampooer was expensive, not on sale. I was nervous about ordering another shampooer because of the cost of the other brand. I was pleasantly surprised when we got the Hoover. It was easy to assemble, and it came with adequate directions which bode well. It was easy to fill the tanks with water and cleanser. The tanks are a decent size; not too big or too small. They are easy to take off the machine to empty and refill. The suction is great. It feels heavy duty but is not hard to manage. It does not weigh too much to move. It has an attachment for upholstery, which I used. It worked well. I am pleased with this Hoover shampooer. Oh, and we got it on sale!

Effective, quick, excellent value
Outstanding! Our old Hoover steam unit was leaving unsightly stripes of filth on our 24 year old light beige carpet. We purchased this one based on a Grok AI recommendation. Completely satisfied. It mixes the soap internally allowing the unused product to be dumped back into the jug. It cleaned the strips from the old unit and restored the carpet to like new. It is light, quick, and easy to use. The rinse function is key to a thorough, low odor job. The only thing people may find annoying is the high pitched, turbo diesel type of whine. Wear your headsets and enjoy.

Company is oblivious to the issues with SpinScrub Brushes
Initial reaction when I had first received this Carpet cleaner, was pretty good. Opened the box, only thing I had to assemble was the handle and it was ready to go. Most of the 5-Star reviews have covered the good part of its functioning. I will highlight what they may not have experienced yet. The SpinScrub brushes makes the spinning action using a turbine mechanism. This turbine has cheap parts and it starts rusting as soon as it comes in touch with water, which could happen right after the first wash. This issue has been widely reported in Hoover's other models as well, and yet Hoover's clueless Engineering team is unable to change the design or the parts and keeps on using non-stainless steel and cheap parts which seize to operate, right after they come in contact with water and rust. Check the following link on Amazon Q&A where a user has asked a question after his or her machine stopped working: https://www.amazon.com/Brushes-not-spinning-something-internally/forum/Fx23UOVL4I8KXTK/Tx26GM4WHEYHZHV/1?asin=B00009R66F When I experienced this issue as I was getting ready to use the machine, I did an online search and numerous videos on how to fix the Hoover carpet cleaner's turbine mechanism. It's just been a year and have used the cleaner twice. I am very handy with fixing things. So, I thought, I will give it a try before calling Hoover for warranty claim. In my case though, it won't fix as the shaft between two bearings is completely rusted and jammed. The bearings are rusted too, tried using WD-40 and tried to move the part but it won't budge. I have now sent a message to Hoover Support, let's see how quickly they can have it fixed. I will come back and update the review accordingly. ----- Update as of May 4th ----- My machine was still under warranty. I had contacted the Hoover Support via email but they refused to send the affected part and instead referred to me to their authorized service center. I tried to reason with them that it's waste of time for me drive about 11 mi to take the machine for a problem which I have already diagnosed. They refused and reiterated to take it to authorized service center. I had eventually taken the machine last week to service center. The service center folks were very receptive and told me that this is a common problem but good for their business. Warranty or not, they get paid either way. Service Center had called me last Saturday that they had replaced the part under warranty. I just need to now pick it up. ----- Update as of May 6th ----- I picked up the machine today and it has a new turbine that rotates the SpinScrub brushes. This repair was done under warranty but I am concerned that warranty would soon expire. So, I asked the service tech about what options I have when (not if) it happens again. He told me that the part is about $30 and their service fee for changing the part is $20. So, I will be looking at $50 expense every time this part needs replacement as the company WILL NOT ship the part directly to consumer even if they could handle the repairs themselves. An additional fact to keep in mind before you pick this cleaner.

No need to hesitate. Just buy this machine already!
I have an expensive Bissell carpet cleaner that I’ve used less than a handful of times. When I recently tried to use it after my dog had an accident, the sprayer failed. I thought it could have been clogged but nope. It just seized. So I bought this one after reading the reviews. Wow, am I ever impressed! It cleaned my carpet so well it looks as good as new. So very, very happy with this purchase. It was very easy to set up and very easy to clean. It arrived in a ‘short’ box and I had immediate dread that I would have to do a lot of assembling. Nope. It just took 2 screws to attach the handle. That was it. I can’t recommend this machine enough. Also, it’s much lighter than my Bissell. Much, much lighter and seems to have better suction. Couldn’t be any happier. Do not hesitate. Just buy it. You won’t regret it.

Wrong plug+No adapter= fire&broken machine
I was very excited to use my machine. It came with what looks like a USA plug and no adapter. I read the instructions, used my own adapter, measured and filled the machine, turned it on and instantly heard a bang, with the smell of burning and then machine turned off... I felt it was going to create an electrical fire, especially how there is water inside the machine and something has exploded in there. Not a nice experience.

Works very well, no leaks.
This machine works really good. I did my dining room first because its was the easiest accessible. The water came out BLACK. I was pretty impressed but my back injury stopped me from doing very much more. I highly recommend this machine. The only thing i dont like is that it doesn't like to suck up cat hair, it will ball it up and you will have to pick it up separately. Other than that it cleans very good and at this sale price you cant beat it. I read some reviews about leakage then realized it was human caused.. I realized because there are certain ways these water tanks lock into place and if they aren't put into place perfectly then they will leak or not pick up water properly. So I learned from my mistakes. I wish the tanks allowed more water to be picked up because it fills rather quickly. It does a very good job. The brushes on the bottom work very well and it sucks up the majority of water when the tanks are locked in properly (back and front). My landlord didn't clean my apartment when I moved in 13/14 years ago so my carpet (40 years old) was due to be washed. I was honestly scared it might rip the carpet up but it didn't. It made it look so much better, now its standing up and not laying down in the high use areas of the carpet.
