This exceeded my expectations. It has a nice rounding to the top, so I've even been able to fit some taller stuff in here. Has a small little latch on the front, but doesn't have a security lock if that's what you're looking for. The craftsmanship is actually very good quality. Cherry stain is the icing on the cake.

The sizing is off. It’s slightly smaller than the measurements on the outside of the box, and definitely smaller on the inside. The inside is more like slightly less than 8”, by 4 1/2”. It’s a bummer because my item just barely doesn’t fit. It’s a nice box so I’ll probably keep it and find another use for it, but I’m annoyed at the size discrepancy.

It looks nice, but that’s it. It feels cheap, even just for a decoration. The hinges on the back have broken after having only opened them a handful of times (see pic). So no, I definitely wouldn’t give something of such poor quality as a gift, not keep it for myself.

My best friend loved it! He calls it his “chest” lol and uses it for all of his watches and little keepsakes. It’s almost like his male-approved jewelry box lol. Either way, he/we love it!
