I'm a painter of 7 years. I started with student grade paints but as I improve I've started collecting professional paints which are expensive to buy and this is perfect to house them.The metal tin is roomy and comes with full size and half size pans. you get lots so actually enough for a full set of paints. So you can squirt tube paints into the pans or just pop them in if you already have paint in pans. I use the sides for mixing.iI closes really well and firmly so doesn't come undone in my art bag.My one bug bear is that you can't detach the trays as you can in my W&N cotman box but honestly this isn't a big issue for me. :)
