Fantastic for hiking and backpacking!
I like the fact this case looks and feels like a backpack rather than some of the more popular rigid cases I've seen people using. The top pocket is very large, probably larger than need be. It easily holds a controller / blades / could throw in a go-pro, batteries, wires etc.The back pocket (behind the blades in this pic) fits a Shield K1 nicely! The Phantom 4 fits great, haven't had a chance to throw my XSP into it yet, but it's been confirmed to fit well. The drone itself is held securely and can be easily accessed / removed / re-inserted.Highlights:- Relatively comfortable,- Great amount of padding throughout the whole backpack,- Airplane travel friendly,- Surprising amount of storage space,- Built-in weather cover,

Perfect for a phantom 3/4
I've been searching for the perfect backpack for my phantom when I travel, and this is it. This backpack is the smallest, most portable pack you can currently buy for the phantom. It's also well under the carry-on requirement for most airlines. It even fits my goggles and transmitter in a separate compartment. Keep in mind that this is not the most protected backpack out there. If you're looking for lots of cushioning and foam, you might want to look at another pack. It's not horrible, as it does have some cushioning, but it's not like some of the bigger ones where the quad is encased in foam. For me, I was willing to give up extra foam for a tiny footprint. All the other packs I tried looked "boxy". This one looks like a normal backpack when I carry it. Tons of extra pockets for things like batteries and the charger, etc.

Great case for your drone!
Yes I just bought it and it is the typical canvas type material with nice zippers that easily open and close we have come to expect from backpacks. The layout of the pack is ideal for most needs regardless of the drone you have that is typical in size and shape to either the DJI or Autel drones. I do dislike the fact that the X Star cannot fit in the main compartment right side up rather that placing it upside down as photos indicate. It would be very vice if this would be addressed in maybe a revision of the pack. Now that said I was also concerned even with a gimbal guard in place the camera when wearing the pack and the drone secured inside can still have some flop and play which I am suspect to. Well you are probably thinking why not just take the camera off and stuff in a pocket. Well, not really a option unless you take the RC out of the top compartment and place it there then find a place like the main compartment to stuff the RC in beside the drone. Which like I stated, could be an option but we will see. I know this is not a specific pack for the X Star nor the DJI but rather a universal and that is okay. The build and materials are great and the small side compartments plenty for one to take the stock items and a few extras to place into. The laptop compartment or tablet area is plenty big enough for most. So all in all this is a 4 star but really worth having if you need a pack that is drone specific or just dislike the hard case like that the X Star came in. I like the hard case but wanted a more discreet way to transport.

Ten Facts about this bag
Ape Case may have designed this bag for drones but they may have also inadvertently designed the greatest camera bag under $100 in the universe. Here are 10 FACTS to support my cosmically bold claim.1. There are standard front loader camera bags, and top loader camera bags, and side loader bags. Because of how it's designed to access a drone the Ape Case 1500W is all three. In fact it's a dual side, side loader. This makes it arguably the most diversely accessible camera bag in the universe.2. As you may already know Ape Case also makes a line of Cubeze camera bag inserts. The Cubeze ACQB37 could not fit more perfectly in this bag (1 in top, 2 in bottom), making one of the most customizable camera bags in the universe. (the Ergodyne clam-shell cases also fit nicely)3.You may have noticed this bag is divided top and bottom, and you may be thinking that's not your cup of jam. But wait! An often overlooked feature of the 1500W is that you can unzip the divider and use the full bag height. Revising my previous claim of it being ONE of the most customizable bags and making it THE most customizable camera bags in the universe.4. The main purpose of a camera bag is to protect your gear. Because it is designed to carry fragile drones the 1500W already has twice the padding of your average camera bag. If you also consider the additional padding of the Cubeze inserts, you now have the best padded camera bag in the universe.5. You'd think with all that padding you'd sacrifice some space. You'd be inaccurate. I can get two camera bodies, two lenses, two LED lights, my audio kit, and all the cables and batteries and accessories I need for a video shoot in this bag. And it still slides snugly--almost precisely--under an airplane seat. Dare I say it… the best carry-on camera bag in the universe.6. It easily holds a 17in laptop. This is rare in camera bags in general, but especially in camera bags in this price range with this level quality. Which makes the 1500W the best laptop camera bag in the universe.7. Drone users love to get out in those remote locations and the 1500W is designed for that. It has a lavishly padded and breathable back panel shoulder straps. Equally padded waist strap. A stabilizing chest strap and additional fasteners at the top of the shoulder straps and sides of the bags for further stabilization. And an included rain cover. All of which add up to the best hiking camera bag in the universe.8. The materials on this bag are top notch and well chosen. First of all almost every other camera bag with high visibility yellow interiors uses that horrid felt material that stretches and sags under any regular use. The 1500W uses a nice firm, smooth, bright yellow nylon. The outer shell is a good quality material as well. Sturdy but still lightweight and good consistent stitching. And the inner pockets feature fiber reinforced see thru tops. The best made camera bag for the price.... in the universe.9. Accounting for 1-8 plus all the design details such as zipper placement, pocket sizes, and general aesthetic… best designed inadvertent camera bag in the universe.10. Ape Case makes good quality stuff. I'd say in the top range brands. I'm not saying this to kiss their Ape Ass, but to make a final point. Given the 9 indisputable facts laid out above, I dare you… no, I defy you… to find another camera bag of this diversity and quality for even double price. Making the 1500W the best camera bag deal in the universe. So by the scientific law of lists of ten, the 1500W is galaxies down the best camera bag in the UNIVERSE… It's also an above average drone bag.

Best drone-related purchase I've made besides the bird itself
Best drone-related purchase I've made besides the bird itself. This backpack has a ton of things going for it. It's well-made, discrete, has tons of storage, its comfortable, and I was able to take it as my carry-on during flights. It safely holds my P4P, 5 batteries, a 17" laptop, all of my lenses for my bird, landing pad, and cords...As well as my DSLR and a couple lenses. This is an extremely good deal on a very valuable storage/transport option for your Phantom. You will be happier than the reviews let on, and that's saying something!

Fantastica
