Authoritative
I read it for general information on blogging and not for monetisation, so not all of it was relevant to my specific needs. However, regardless, the book has useful content and the author is clearly an authority in her niche.Main takeaway points:People are time-starved, so write posts that get straight to the point and are scannable.Entry barriers to blogging are minimal.Blogging raises your profile and opens more opportunities.Blog with carefully selected search words. Most bloggers want to be seen as influencers. You can blog to be recognised as an authority in a field.Fifty per cent of being an authority is stepping up to assume that position and speak.Your niche is the area your content is focussed around.Social media makes the blog into a community and not just a one way flow to an audience. The most important thing is to actually get launched.Nothing tells a better story than photographyA business should blog three times a weekContent should be unique and relevant to your audienceCan pin Flagship Content- perhaps its a single post that went viral.Using the news for inspiration makes you look cutting edge.Present an alternative take on the news.Cater in blogs for scan readers who are looking for instant gratification.Blog pretty much as you talk.Make your main points up top- online readers pay far less attention.List posts are quick and easy to read and can still be very engaging.Keep paragraphs and sentences short and make big spaces between paragraphs.Content with a moral/greater life message is more likely to go viral.Tools such as Canva and Wordswag help create beautiful graphics and quotation images.

Looking To Start Blogging? This Is The Book You Should Read
Having several (less than successful!) attempts at blogging over the years I feel well qualified to comment on Natasha Courtenay-Smith's new book, "Million Dollar Blog". That I drank down her engaging and well written 270+ pages of content like a parched man in a desert inside 48 hours is testimony both to her knowledge and her writing style. Her background as a former professional journalist and entrepreneur show through from the start and continue throughout the book. At no point does she sell the notion that blogging is a magic potion, indeed she stresses that to be successful you have to treat it like a business.Another reviewer made the point that some of the resources Natasha recommends cost money, well that's the case in any almost any business, and if you're seriously looking to build a blog which creates an opportunity to make money you will be recouping your outlay fairly quickly assuming you put the effort in.Whether you're looking to start from scratch or to increase your profile for an existing business then the numerous stories from such blogging luminaries as Seth Godin and Emma Jones will inspire you. Taking just one example, Elegant Themes (page 54) who detail the outcome of their blogging strategy for 2015, they show that consistent effort really does pay off. By posting 365 pieces of good quality content they received 12.8 million page views for the year (there will be more page views for that same content of course through this year and onwards). Did happen over night? No, but the results show what can be achieved by making the effort. And if you only receive 10% of those page views what would it do for your business?I highly recommend if you're looking to get started in the blogging world (blogosphere!) or wanting to get your existing business in front of more people you order a copy, read it and take action.

Not very helpful
To be perfectly honest, I didn't really find this book very helpful. Just seemed to be mostly information on successful bloggers and not really helping you create a successful blog.

Fantastic book! A MUST read for anyone wanting to succeed in blogging!
This is my very first Amazon review despite being a regular Amazon customer for many years - that's how fantastic I think this book is!!!! For any aspiring or existing Blogger this as an absolute MUST read!I am an aspiring Blogger and have read at least 10 books within the past 6 weeks all relating to the topic of 'how to become a successful blogger' - some of which were a chore to read and non of which come close to The Million Dollar Blog in terms of being an engaging read and genuinely helpful, useful, informative and with a clear method in how to succeed in Blogging! After reading over 10 books relating to how to blog and too many hours to count reading up on this subject area online - having read The Million Dollar Blog in just a matter of days (couldn't put it down!) I just wish I had read this book first! Only after reading this book do I now feel confident in starting my own Blog, in the knowledge that I finally understand how to achieve this!Natasha Courtenay-Smith (Author) really has created a masterpiece with The Million Dollar Blog, achieving what other books have fallen short of in my opinion - A book that is engaging and easy to read, clear and succinct in explaining complicated subject areas and structured so that by the end of the book you are ready to start blogging! The book also details interviews with world leading Bloggers which I found fascinating. This book would be ideal not just for an aspiring blogger but also for an existing blogger wishing to progress or for the business blogging market.Fantastic book!! The best in this subject area by far!

Great book, but a little old.
A good read, with great tips on how to beat writer's block when it comes to your blog. It helps keep the future in mind while at the early stages, and for that it gives a tremendous value. But be aware it's kind of old as it was released in 2016. This may not seem like a long time ago right now (2019) but with all the changes in blogging, and social media that can happen in a span of six months, it was hard to gauge its relevance.overall it's a good book to keep you motivated in your blogging endeavors.

Gros bluff
Le titre est prometteur mais le contenu pauvre en informations pratiques. Du coup c'est que de la théorie. Je n'ai pas aimé ce livre. Je recommande à la place She means business de Carrie

Brilliant read!
This book has introduced an uninformed cyber-fearing sceptic, like myself, to the digital world in a clear, concise, informed, and simple (yet profound) way.
