A nice addition to a great brake controller.
I can't say enough about the Echo portable brake controller. It is easy to use and functions as advertised. The app is a great way to interface to the controller. Adding the button means I can put the phone away (as long as the Echo app is running) and quickly access braking. My only dig, it should come in somewhat less garish colors. Not cool against my gray/black/wood Audi dash.

Dont Leave Home Without It
A nice addition to the controller. Expensive, but worth the money. Would recommend.

A safety nightmare
You need you brake controller to perform 100% of the time. This system is not that for a few reasons:1) The requirement to have your phone connected as a proxy from this device to the controller. Nothing is more heart dropping than hitting the emergency brake button and having a 2 second delay (or no response at all).2) Even worse, there was a recent software update that required you to download a new application, register a new account and accept a new legal agreement in order to _continue using_ this solution. There was _zero_ grace period, I just woke up one day ready to hit the road and the application was bricked. Thank goodness I had internet connection otherwise I would have had zero brakes. (!!!)3) And the new software has issues where the brakes can lock on. (!!!!)I've immediately replaced it with a hard-wired system.Don't trust an emergency failsafe system that has so many single points of failure and depends on software that can be made obsolete overnight. Protect your investment and safety. Get a hardwired solution.
