Overall ExperienceAfter purchasing a UE Boom speaker, I will never get another brand. For a speaker that runs off a battery, it is extremely impressive. Despite being on the more expensive side, it is well worth the price for several key reasons. It is extremely durable, has great sound quality, and is very portable. If you are an outdoor adventurer and love music, the UE Boom is definitely something you will want to take with you. But even if you aren’t as adventure-prone, I would still recommend it. It has not only replaced my old and bulky home speaker system, but it also comes in handy when playing music in my car (which has a really old stereo system).Durability Durability is one of the essential factors in a portable speaker, because, without it, you may feel less free to bring it along with you for various outdoor activities. Because the UE Boom is not only drop-proof, but also waterproof (I have tested both, multiple times), you don’t need to even think about protecting your speaker as you would other electronics. Bringing it on your adventures will become as automatic as bringing a water bottle.Sound Quality Not only is the speaker durable enough to withstand the wear and tear of an outdoor lifestyle, it also has excellent sound quality and volume. Because of this, it is also very convenient to use to boost movie audio at home or to play music in your car (assuming you have an older car). For those of us who have older TVs and/or cars, and who don’t want to spend money on a home speaker system or car stereo, a UE Boom is a great solution for all of these problems at once. Additionally, with regards to the max volume, when using it at a park, I often don’t even have the volume maxed out for fear of being rude to those around me. That’s how loud it can get.Portability The portability of the UE Boom is my another of my favorite aspects. As mentioned earlier, bringing it with you will likely become as habitual as bringing a water bottle. Its size is actually slightly smaller than a water bottle, and despite that, its battery lasts 2-6 hours depending on how loudly you like to play your music. If you want to extend the battery life, one thing you can do is use a good power bank with it (only about $20-$30), and that can keep it playing your music for 5-7 hours. I definitely would recommend purchasing a UE Boom and hope that you have as good an experience as I have had so far!

I have a UEBOOM in pink vibe that's 3yrs old, that I love so much. It still works great. So when I saw UEBOOM2, I decided to get one. Megaboom is too big for me, and UE roll is too small, UEBOOM is just perfect.I just got it recently, in Brainfreeze blue. My iPhone connected to it pretty easily, but I had to manually turn it on first. The sound is awesome!The problem is, it works great with the app like the controls and equalizer, but it doesn't turn on remotely like my old UEBOOM. It can be turned off remotely but doesn't turn on with the app, I had to manually turn it on. Which is a disappointment, since I have it on my desk and I usually want some music in the morning when I wake up, but I don't want to get up out of bed. That's why my old UEBOOM is perfect. I remember the old UEBOOM did not have that feature at first but was updated with the firmware. I have the updated firmware but the remote ON switch still doesn't work.Then I found out that it works perfectly ok with my iPod touch 5th gen. I can even pair it up through the app. So my iphone6s powers on my old UEBOOM and my ipod5 powers on my new UEBOOM2. I can pair both with both devices. At this point that works for me.I tried the pairing and it's not very good. The speaker you add through the app often drops music, so you hear a lot of skips and pauses even if they're side by side. I don't really care much about that, I just want to enjoy my UEBOOM2 without the inconvenience of manually turning it on. For now, it works for me but I'm hoping an update of the firmware would fix the bugs. Separately, each unit works great. The new UEBOOM2 is louder and better-sounding. And you can always customize the equalizer in the app to your liking.

The unit is sturdy and well built. It has premium finish and touch. The blue color looks great. Clarity of the music is absolutely great. Connectivity to other devices is very very smooth. Its very soothing to listen to your favourite music in this device. At higher volumes, it thrills you. PS: your neighbours will able to hear on the maximum volume. Charging is not a big deal. It charges within 1-2 hrs. It last longs for 14-16 hrs. Talking via boom 2 for calls is also good. The person can hear u clearly from a distance of 2-3 feet from the device.Absolute Gem of a device.
