Defective out of the box
These are very poor quality. Luftmeister shocks have good reviews on other sites and on Amazon but then they were removed from Amazon for a while and now they have reappeared under the same brand for more $$$ and these are very poor quality. I would not take the time to install these. Very easily compressed and not smooth at all. You are better off to use your original worn out shocks than these things. Look elsewhere.

Works well
Fits my 05 GX470. Ride control functions well; no issues so far.

Direct replacement
My only issue was that the top nut was missing from one of the shocks. I didn't realize this until I had already installed one and put that wheel back on. Not knowing what size it was, I had to remove the wheel again and the top nut to try to find a match. The size turned out to be 12mm/1.25. It's a stop nut with the plastic liner. Finally found one at Menards. And no, I couldn't just use the old ones, as both were so rusted that they broke off rather than unscrew.

Got one OEM Toyota shock, one unmarked...
Ordered these after looking at the other reviews. Was pleased to see one Toyota stamped shock, and one without any markings sadly... So that's odd. Regardless, they come with everything needed to install and the ride is immensely improved over the old passive KYB shocks I installed when the OEM ones started leaking. Will see how they hold up long term.*August 2021 Update*Took these offroading in CO and they held up well. Currently I just have these on the rear of the truck. For the price, these are a great solution if you don't want to lift the truck or need a stepping stone before doing so for the old worn out suspension. Currently debating getting these for the front too or going Dobinson's 2 inch lift.

Buy these shocks, don't buy the cheaper ones !!
I used these shocks on a GX470 Lexus SUV to replace the original shocks that had corroded and destroyed one of the new air bags I had installed. Be sure to purchase the shocks with the same type of cable so that it works properly with your suspension height adjustment switch.
