The Viva Mayr Diet: 14 Days to a Flatter Stomach and a Younger You

The only thing you can really do on the viva mayr diet is chew🤗
Like the idea of the viva mayr, but found it not practical for full time workers .Was drinking less water due to the restrictions on when to drink before and after eating .Disliked most of the recipes but have enjoyed some. I would like to think that it would be of help to someone who has bad eating habits,by following this diet I'm sure it would be of help.Loved the mango and papaya breakfast still having that regularly and more conscious of chewing now .going to the actual spa is defo on my bucket list .

Interesting concept though not always practical
ok, I bought this book after hearing about the Mayr clinic on a plane. I thought I'd read about this clinic before investing in a stay there. I found the concepts interesting, no raw food after 4pm; drink water either side of your meals but not with them; have your heaviest meal for breakfast and your lightest for dinner; don't eat dinner after 6pm. Another rule is to chew every morcel of food between 30 and 40 times. The concepts are all very interesting and make a lot of sense, the problem is implementing all of these changes. For me it is not an option to have my biggest meal as breakfast, I definitely couldn't face any cooked food or things such as mozzarella first thing in the morning. And eating before 6pm is also out of the question as by that time I am just reaching the house. I have been trying to stick to the water at mealtimes rule but not strictly as after my meals I have some pills to take. The only rule I have been follwoing as strictly as possible is that of chewing my food until it becomes unrecognizable. The great thing with this part of the diet is that, once I finish my meal, be it a medium lunch or a light dinner, I am so full that I feel no need to pick at anything else until the next meal. So I stick to drinking water or some herbal teas and feel great. The flip side to chewing so much is that when I eat processed food (I have a serious sweet tooth so any chocolate/sugar covered thing is my thing) I am not as satisfied by the flavour as I was when I chewed 3/4 times and basically swallowed the thing in one piece. This results in me eating less of my old faves...excellent for my waistline. One thing I always thought was healthy and therefore find very difficult to change now, is eating fruit or raw vegetable in the afternoon or for dinner. I always thought a salad and some fruit for dinner, especially if I get home very late, were much better than almosy anything else, but it seems all my life I have been wrong about this.To be honest the entire book makes sense though most of its suggestion can be awkward to implement, including the recipes.I haven't tried any recipe yet or I'd end up eating very late; they seem very tasty but, especially those for lunch, I find difficult to prepare and take to work. But if you have the time, or maybe have a kitchen at the office or, even better, don't work, they would be ideal. So why did I give the book a 4 if it seems I'm being negative about it? easy, just because I cannot be bothered to try hard enough to implement all the changes, it doesn't mean the entire book is wrong. as I said, the concepts are really interesting and they make sense.Plus I am implementing some changes, even if a lot slower than the 14 days as the book outlines, and I am seeing the benefits. So if I am seeing benefits with only 1-2 changes, I am certain if I followed the entire program I would be feeling even better.I'd say it's worth investing in the book and at least follow the rules you can, whichever they may be and see how you feel. I bet you'll feel really well, though I do not believe one will lose any weight until every single rule is being followed. But until that time comes, at least I have started and feel better for it.

Boring... Oh so boring...
The book is written in a really annoying manner... It is just impossible to read ... Really boring and patronising. Don’t waste your money and simply eat healthy, including loads of veg, avoid sugar and eat spelt bread.. Basically the book in a nutshell ;)
