Great for pour over coffee (Chemex)
Simply perfect for pour over coffee (Chemex in my case) - ergonomic, light and sturdy.1) Preheat the filter with boiling water, swirl the water around to preheat the Chemex2) Place 36 grams of freshly ground medium-coarse high quality coffee in the filter.3) Pour 200 ml of boiling water into the beaker - the temp of the water will drop to perfect ~200F coffee brewing temperature.4) Let the grounds bloom for 30-45 seconds.5) Pour the remaining 400 ml of water from the beaker slowly over the beans ensuring that the wet beans on the side of the Chemex are also participating in the brewing process.6) Enjoy your coffee!

NOT delivered as WAS advertised, new photo is real. Kudos to vendor.
This image is NOT what I received. The handle is smaller, and of clunky flat glass, in the shape of a rounded rectangle. The spout is MUCH smaller, just the typical chemistry beaker kind but even smaller than that. I'm very disappointed, but it's adequate for my purpose of boiling water for making coffee by the cup, and matches the ordinary beaker that I use as a collecting carafe well enough, which holds my single-cup cone-filter much better than any ordinary cup or mug. Very good method for aging bachelors like me. I have a very nice teapot with a screamer on the spout, which kept me from zoning of a morning and letting it burn up. Anymore, I have problems taking off its lid. The beeper on the microwave performs the same function with my new beaker, and if I miss hearing it, no danger of burning it up. I must have a holdover fancy for beakers, from college; I also drink my coffee from fine English 'beakers', which are essentially mugs with slightly flared tops, made of fancy-teacup porcelain, thin enough that they hold much more coffee than any typical American mug. For whatever reason, Amazon won't let me upload a photo.Update: dribbles backward badly when pouring, have to do so over the sink.Update: Vendor refunded, and changed the photo to actual product. Reasonable. Unfortunately, Amazon gives me no option to update my vendor rating.

Be careful if using magnetic stirrer. Glass is very thin!
Very nice mug, but very fragile. Dropping stir bar in even with liquid will crack the bottom, as will a stir bar that is out of balance. Actually put a pinhole in the bottom of one so it was leaking out, like a windshield fisheye chip. The handle and feel are great, and it's accurately marked. It's very fragile, so make sure to slid the stir bar in if you need to, but it isn't as durable as normal beakers. Using it for everyday non-stirring stuff shouldn't be a problem if set down gently and never shocked.

A full 500 ml cup
I have trouble finding borosilicate cups that are a full 500 ml. This one is. I don't know if it is accurate, these types of cups are not very durable, and this one costs about what the other ones cost, but I like it and it is what I wanted. Everything went well, it is as advertised, and it came on time.

It’s cute, but I feel like it would break easy
Bigger than expected, and a lot thinner as well. I have not put anything hot in it yet cause I’m afraid it will break. It’s a great decoration for your desk if you like science, I would say the only downside is how breakable it feels when you hold it.
