I've been dealing with laryngopharyngeal reflux (GERD that gets into your larynx) for about a year and recently stopped taking omeprazole. I really, really don't want to be on that stuff forever, so when my symptoms started coming back I went on a search for a natural antacid (never liked Tums) and I found these at Whole Foods. I added them to a new habit of paying super close attention to what, when, and how much I eat (like they tell you to for GERD), and I'm starting to feel pretty confident that I won't need to get back on the omeprazole. Subscribed to these as soon as I saw them here. I take about one a day after my biggest meal (always brunch or lunch if I can help it), and sometimes before bed.One thing I've noticed is that sometimes the reflux feels a lot like extreme thirst, so I had been drinking tons of water after meals, even though I get plenty of water and I'm not dehydrated. The extra three or four glasses of water I was adding to my meals were just increasing the load on my esophageal sphincter and making it all worse. In general I have had a very good experience with Gaia products and can recommend them. The problem with this product is that it probably contains gluten from the barley seed extract and I may have had a reaction from it (it is also possible that it was from another source). Given that this could potentially be used by many people with numerous digestive issues related to gluten, there should at least be a warning.Note that if you are not restricting gluten in your diet, the amount here is probably insignificant.

This is a very good product. I was taking Prevacid on and off (but mostly on) for the past 10 years and was still having breakthrough acid reflux, and taking handfuls of antacids in between. My doctor said that I would likely be on an acid blocker for the rest of my life. I only later learned that acid supressors sometimes CAUSE the very symptoms they are supposed to be treating! Who knew!! With the help of a natural health care practitioner I have been able to wean myself off of the Prevacid and live mostly without any acid reflux symptoms at all for the past few months. I can't believe what a difference this makes and I can't believe I was slave to the pharmaceutical industry for a decade of my life!! This is one of the supplements I have been using to control my acid reflux. I like that, unlike mainstream antacids, it is not full of aluminum. Used in conjunction with a couple of other supplements, I think it has been an integral part of the shift away from reliance on pharmaceuticals. I look forward to the day when I can be rid of acid reflux forever, but until that day, I am glad to have this product as part of my arsenal in managing acid reflux.

Cool glass bottle. Definitely have to be careful when traveling with glass in bag/purse. The taste is natural and kind of minty. The color is a light beige and like the size of a dime.
