These commercially compostable bags fit my kitchen compost container and are accepted by my local composting utility. The bags hold wet kitchen scraps for at least two weeks without a leak.The bag edges drape loosely over the sides of the compost container and can easily collapse down inside: I wish the bags had an elastic rim. I also wish they had tie flaps.

If like me you live in a city where you must recycle food waste separate from garbage, these bags are a must have. Food waste in a garbage can just turns to rot in a few days. Bagging food waste in these compostable bags means that there is no odor from the outdoor garbage can (or indoors, for that matter, until you have enough to take it outside). These bags are well worth the price. I twist it close until it is nearly full, then knot it and dispose of it. One box will last me for months.

We have been using these, in various sizes for three years... why would anyone use a plastic bag when these are available, we all need to do our part, this is one way to help the plastic problem. Great quality, they don't degrade quickly enough to be a problem with wet coffee grounds for at least 5 days... .

Can't get too excited about compostable bags, so that's the reason for 4 stars. They work fine, don't leak, and fit in my under-sink compost bin.

I’ve only used one of the bags so far. This is for my kitchen scrap pail and it fits just right. Hope it really is biodegradable. Don’t want to add more plastic to the waste problem.Update: 4/28/2025 - bags fall and tear apart even before placed into recycle bucket. Earlier purchases of this product worked fine.

These are good bags for food scraps and other composting items. One thing to note - don't let them get too wet or they will eventually tear. You should change the bag within a week if you have any wet items you need to put in them. I love using these bags even for trash - at least I'm not throwing most plastic in the landfill.

I love the concept but not so much the shape of these bags. They are shaped like a square that’s tied at one end. I use them to store the pulp from juicing fruits and veggies for which they are perfect - they go right into the compost.
