Come Fly with Me: Flying in Style

I was a expecting another coffee table book of good photos of interesting well-known people to add to my pile of same. But what arrived was a profoundly revealing document on celebrities and their fans. Peckman's compendium of carefully selected photographs of heroes of rock, pop, culture, fashion reveals them in a new light. Seeing Paul and Linda, the Pope, Chuck Berry, Ali, Mia, doing what the rest of us mere mortals do (i.e., schlep through airports) brings these folks down to earth. And this is exactly why I love it and will turn to it every time I want to feel close to some of my heroes. Thank you Ms. Peckman. Im looking forward to your next.

I love reading book about the glory days of aviation, and so I eagerly ordered this one. I'm glad I did! Most of the photos are in B & W, showing stars from the 60's and 70's. It's so cool seeing stars that look older today back when they were young and in their prime. I especially love the photos of Dolly Parton and Sammy Davis, Jr. giving exuberant high kicks. That seems like a lost world now. . .

I collect photography books and this is my new favorite. The airport theme is fantastic and there are so many wonderful photographs of celebrities with incredible style throughout the decades. Jodi Peckman's collection and viewpoint are unique. Well done!
