I guess I'm already an expert.
Skip this book if you've had chronic pain for a while, and if your pain is chronic, I'm guessing you'vehad it a while. I've heard and read and research all the approaches in this book over the past 10 yearsand have already picked and am using the ones that have benefited me. Nice book to have it all in oneplace for the newbies/but if you're a newbie to chronic pain this book will be SO full of stuff for you to consider I have no doubt it will be overwhelming. Maybe the author should have just sold small booklets instead taking each suggestion one a time...that way we could easily pick and choose what we wanted to buy/learn more about instead of getting the whole book. Just a suggestion. MY BEST ADVICE AND THIS IS NOT IN THE BOOK SPECIFICALLY1. Trust yourself and you own pain experience and know it is real.2. Know that just because it's "chronic" doesn't mean you'll have it forever. Chronic ONLY means you've had it for 3-6 months or more with no resolution or relief.3. Try everything you can afford to try for relief, but try one thing at a time.4. Find what works for you and only do those things.5. Don't talk about your journey about pain relief with others. It belongs to you and to be honest, others aren't all that interested in your pain / forgive them too.6. Don't quit. Be it diet or CBD or meditation or drugs (legal) or essential oils - every failure to find relief (don't look for cure) is just an opportunity to try something else.7. Read the reseach and have hope.8. Have a physician / counselor you trust, but follow your gut if you know something isn't right.9. You're not in it alone / and that doesn't help - I know....but just know that's a fact that's all.10. Nothing is forever. Even your experience of your pain will change over time. It might get better or it might just change. Be ready for anything and never stop believing in MIRACLES < they do happpen.

WHAT GODSEND!
I have suffered from chronic pain for decades. I never understood what was happening and put up with it for years until I ended up on the floor unable to walk or stand. I was the person written about in this book, and the medical community offered the very diagnoses and treatments described - but no cures. That's what most impresses me about this ambitious book - it offers not just some exercises and dietary changes to help with the conditions you are feeling -- but it talks about WHY they occur, and HOW they can be alleviated.Who knew there were three huge categories of chronic pain. Long-term sufferers (like me) tend to drift into two or even all three categories over time. This explains why I still suffer slightly different issues today after my worst back troubles ceased. This amazing resource offers hope and help to you as long as surgeries have not eclipsed the opportunity to repair the balance the body needs to operate pain-free.I love how the questionnaires and quizzes and descriptions in the book allow you to self-diagnose problems and then follow them up with periods of repair exercises and maintenance exercise and diet.If you suffer chronic pain, be sure to read this book before going down the rabbit hole of traditional medicine and surgery.

Well-written guidebook to help you heal!
As someone who has been dealing with chronic pain for several years, I am always looking for new books to help me feel good and eliminate pain. What I love about this book is the multi-pronged approach to healing that it teaches—combining the best of Eastern and Western medicine to provide an effective solution for anyone suffering from chronic pain. Western medicine has a tendency to compartmentalize pain— if your feet hurt, you see a podiatrist; if your belly hurts, you see a gastroenterologist; if you have recurring headaches, you go see a neurologist. It was so refreshing to read a book that approaches the concept of pain from a holistic perspective. It doesn’t matter if your pain is in your foot, your arm, your hip, or your head. Break the Pain Cycle will help you get to the root cause of your pain and guide you through the steps you need to take to resolve it. Get ready to do some work— This book pushes you to reflect upon your current lifestyle and analyze the environment and conditions under which the pain began. Don’t worry, you won’t be overwhelmed at all. As you read each chapter, you will feel as if you have your own personal functional medicine doctor to guide you each step of the way in your healing.

A must-read for anyone in chronic pain
I love how this book guides you to identify and address the underlying cause of your chronic pain. The author takes a very compassionate, comprehensive approach and her writing style is very accessible while also offering scientific references for the information she provides in the book. It was very helpful to have her define the three different types of pain, with questionnaires to help you figure out which type of pain you have. The physical exercises in the book are all very doable in about 15-20 minutes per day and the nutritional recommendations are something that most pain doctors never give - yet it's critical for addressing chronic inflammation! I also appreciated how she offers recommendations that are cost-effective and empowering, so that you can take your health into your own hands. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is in chronic pain.

A Roadmap to Wellness! A must-have-book to live again!
Whether you have pain or not, you should read this book...it will not only save you time, energy, money, life but also the people you love. This book is packed with valuable information that can be used as your roadmap to live a healthier and happier life.Unlike other medical or health books that's challenging to read bec. Of its complexity, the author did a great job explaining the details and covering each chapter in very engaging way. Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. I said, "I encountered this, or know someone who's going through this! How can we treat this?"It's also interesting to see that some of what my naturopath, chiropractor and RMT have recommended me in the past when I had back, neck pain, migraine, etc were also covered in this book. Now I have this resource, I can reduce my appointment and use this as my roadmap! A must have book for everyone!

A highly recommended read!
An extremely comprehensive book with a fully detailed, user-friendly, step-by-step guide, to identify and ease your source of chronic pain. I love the holistic approach the author brings to such an important topic which is still greatly misunderstood. Having suffered from chronic pain myself, I found things in this book which had unfortunately taken me too long and too many doctor visits. If the medical industry applied at least 20% of the knowledge in this book to treat patients, the world would be a much healthier place! Very well-written and presented.

you will need this book if you have chronic pain!
anyone who has suffered from pain for extended periods of time knows how debilitating this disease can be. It has a severe impact on our lives, both private and professional, keeps us from doing many of the things we love and is always with us. Going beyond the painkillers and looking at the real root causes of that pain, which is often nothing physical, is often the best way of treatment. In this book, the author shows many extremely useful approaches for patients to truly find what can help them overcome their chronic pain condition, I am so grateful I came across it. It has helped me greatly live a much more normal live today, even without regular medication!
