Dust & Grooves: Adventures in Record Collecting

A large book, great print quality, interesting,short, reads & pages are filled with photographs. About one third of the book contains interviews with record collectors. This book would make a great gift.

An excellent coffee-table book about music and records. This is a must for every record collector.

I’m not sure how I came across this book (which had been published a few years ago), but glad that I did. It’s truly wondrous, pages and pages of photographs of records, on shelves, on the floor, in cupboards, almost anywhere, beautifully photographed by Eilon Paz who had built a reputation for capturing the unusual with his camera, as well possessing a love of music. Both come together beautifully within the 440 pages of this heavy coffee table book.Besides Paz’ own introduction to his work, the book features sections of the collectors, seeking out answers to such questions as how they started collecting, their music tastes, record rooms and what would happen to the collections after they “checked out”!“Dust & Grooves” made me realize that I never took record collecting seriously, and reinforced my regret for selling a lot of the albums in my meagre collection when I was planning to move house (which, making things worse, never happened!). Obviously a book for dedicated collectors, although my neighbour, not a collector, was intrigued by it. It is highly priced but stunningly produced. I’m glad I made the investment!

No pensé encontrarlo a buen precio en México y gracias a dios esta Amazon y lo conseguí a un costo competitivo vs el devaluado peso. Envío al siguiente día. Lo había visto en algunas tiendas de discos en la CDMX a un costo bastante alto que bueno que me aguante.Indispensable para cualquier coleccionista de discos, no es un libro de DJ's son entrevistas con músicos, personas comunes que coleccionan vinilos. Interesante saber el punto de vista de cada uno y el por qué de su colección. El libro es pesado y grande.
