Doesn't leak, very sturdy, easy to pour water from
My LCI can shipped fast. It is exactly like the one in the picture with "Property of US Government" molded into both sides.I had read a lot of earlier reviews concerning it leaking around the main cap, pour cap and vent. It rode on a receiver hitch carrier on back of truck for 800 miles getting to and from our primitive campsite in Big Bend National Park. I used it for a week in the backcountry and had no issues. It is a sturdy water can considering it is made from plastic. The main cap is large. Filling can from water hose is fast. I am satisfied with this purchase and will buy another one in the future.

Tough As Nails
Tough as nails. If you need water storage that you can be assured will be available after almost unimaginable abuse, then these are probably worth the price for you.As a civilian I just bought two for a rainy day. However, I have had a relationship with these water jugs spanning 20+ years in the Army across three continents. I've had them roped to my back during resupply ops in Missouri. I've knocked them off the top of my armored personnel carrier. I've had them stacked by the dozens for months on end in my unit's tool sheds in South Korea (Camp Giant) waiting for the day we would need to roll out on short notice to war with the NKs. I've had them strapped inside the back of my armored Hummer in Baghdad in 126' heat while driving on nice roads like MSR Predators. You can drag them seemingly forever across asphalt and concrete and only scuff the outside. It takes a LOT of heat to burn through one of these things. And while it's not "self healing," a 5.56mm bullet hole partially closes back in on itself - though the jug apparently wasn't full of water when shot. Try doing that to a pretty blue Coleman water jug. The only time I remember getting rid of them was when the cap would get lost after the retention strap broke over the years. The two I now have live in a dark corner of my basement and, although I will change the chlorinated water periodically, will probably be part of the detritus of my life that will have to be dealt with upon my demise.

Just like I remember.
These are just like the cans I remember from the 80's. Very durable, no holes - and no o-rings either, but I can get them from Amazon if the need arises. One thing to note on delivery: open the can and let it sit for a couple of days to vent out the plastic smell from the inside. Give it a quick wash inside and out with some hot water and a few drops of bleach, rinse well, and then let it sit again for another day before filling with water. As others have noted, there are a few places with some extra plastic, such as along the handle, but it isn't a deal breaker. All in all, happy with the purchase.

Last jug you will have to buy for a long time
This would be a five star product but the jug I received leaks a little out of the cap if the jug is not upright. I bought this jug to carry on the back of my pickup for hand washing after going through several cheap jugs from Walmart. I am very pleased with the durability and it looks like this will be the last jug I have to buy for a long time. I forgot to close my tailgate once and lost this thing on a gravel road but the only damage done to the jug was a few scratches.UPDATE: Have owned this jug now for over four years and it’s still going strong! It has a few battle scars but nothing wrong with it. Very, very, happy with this jug.UPDATE: 6 years of getting banged around on the back of my pickup and this jug is still going strong. The phrase “ they don’t make em like they used to” does NOT apply to this jug. Still very, very, happy with this jug. Note: you need to buy o ring kit for this jug or it will leak out of the cap
