If you have long hair I'd recommend using a conditioner afterward if you don't want tangles. I have relatively thin wavy-loose curly (if I dry it naturally and encourage it.) I stopped using conditioner awhile ago and treat my hair a couple times a week with grapeseed oil. I made the mistake of using this on a day I didn't treat my hair with oil. Once it dried naturally I tried brushing it. By the time I thought I had worked out all the knots, my hair reached a rare state of poofy. I ran the brush through one more time and all new knots had formed. It was like I was reliving the 80's. I had to end up just pulling it back into a bun. I now understand why that other shampoo is marketed as "no more tears." I guess all the other shampoos I've been using have a conditioning agent in them even though they don't market it that way. If you want fluffy or have very short or tight curly hair and only run a pick through it - you might actually like what this does for your hair.
