I have learned so much!
This book is written in an interesting, easy to understand format. Readers receive both scientific and practical viewpoints on what is happening with the food to consumer system in our country. Thanks to Sina and Joel for the research and humor that make this a valuable resource.

Super Information, Unexpected layout
I am not completely finished reading this book, but am pleased so far. I had seen Sina McCullough, PhD at an outdoor health conference and was intrigued enough to buy her book. She was able to achieve a superior state of health after being very sick for a very long time. I was a bit surprised at the way the book is laid out. It is basically written as a conversation between Dr. McCullough and farmer Joel Salatin. It looks a little boring, with no graphics, but the information is super and there is an interactive questionaire, recipes, and a few charts sprinkled throughout the book. I am looking forward to finishing the rest of the book and would definitely recommend it for the super helpful information,

Wonderful book for anyone wanting to take charge of their health through their food sources.
My husband is a Farmer, and I have a degree in health promotion, so Joel and Sina’s unique partnership really speaks both our languages! It has been such an interesting read so far. Some info I knew, but some is brand new and helping us take “small bites” on our family’s journey to optimal health. The conversational format is fresh and fun, and the information is presented in a way that’s easy to understand for everyone. But at the same time, the self-proclaimed “simple farmer” has still be able to teach this college educated woman a few new words! Definitely a great read that I seem to find a way to recommend to everyone I meet!

Eye opening
This book is eye opening. I’ve been on this journey of growing my own food for awhile, so some of the info isn’t new, but it’s so worth remembering. I have a homestead and grow all our meat and I’m working on greening up my thumb in the garden. This book reaffirms why we do what we do with our animals. I love that Joel and Sina speak to ALL walks of life. City people to country folk. There are shocking revelations about the food industry and wonderful, helpful tips to get away from it. Everyone should read it, whether or not you homestead already.
