God Forgives... I Don't

" God forgives...I don't" is the first installment of the trilogy involving Cat Stevens," Terence Hill" & Arch Hutch " Bud Spencer". The trilogy in chronological order is " God Forgives...I Don't", " Ace High" & " Boot Hill". This trilogy predates both the " Trinity Series & Sergio Leone's classic " Dollars" Trilogy" also known as " The Man with no Name " trilogy starring Clint Eastwood. " God Forgives...I don't", " Ace High" & " Boot Hill" fall right in the middle of the two classic series of the comical Trinity series & the classic trilogy " A Fist full of Dollars " , " For a few dollars More" & " The Good the Bad and the Ugly" . While know where near as comical as the " Trinity Series", the " God forgives...I Don't" Series has more comedy than " The man with no Name" trilogy. For those who enjoy Spaghetti Westerns...or good westerns period this is a must have for your collection! Terrence Hill & Bud Spencer where in over 20 movies together, their natural cinematic chemistry is a undeniable success! I had owned & watched " Ace High" & " Boot Hill" for years recognizing there obvious connection but it wasn't until I discovered " God Forgives...I Don't" & watched the trilogy in chronological order that I could fully enjoy the seamless transition of all three movies! You may think I'm a idiot for not knowing these movies were a trilogy...but realize I was only 3 years old when the first installment was released. For some reason these movies were not advertised as a trilogy until Amazon.com suggested them as movies of possible interest & in description explained they were indeed a true trilogy! " God Forgives...I Don't" is not just a lot of gratuitous violence with some comic relief, but a cleverly thought out intrigant plot of deception that fuels the action & reveal's deeper character development than your average western of it's time. I could go on & on but in short if your a western fan my advise is to snatch this movie & it's two sequels as fast as you can before there price sky rockets or they fall by the way side in leu of inferior westerns with bigger budgets & lesser story lines!

Fans of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill will probably like this movie, but if you're not familiar with the "Trinity Boys" you'll probably be a little bored. This is a dramatic film, not a comedy. There is some humor, but it's a serious story about desperados and greed in the American Old West, with Bud and Terence being the smarter desperados who come out ahead. This movie is a 1970's Italian spaghetti western, and the only thing that will keep you watching it are Bud's and Terence's performances--if you love these guys you'll find anything they do together enjoyable. There are some good, serious fight scenes, and everybody rides beautiful horses (I personally love great riding and gorgeous steeds.) To sum it up, Bud and Terence fans will probably like it, everyone else will probably turn it off before it finishes.

Ignore the bad reviews on the Wham USA version of "God forgives I don't". This is by far the best print of this movie I have ever found. Yes it may not be perfeCT but for a movie that's 50 years old and compared to the other terrible versions of this movie, wham did a great job on this one. Audio is great and the video is quite clear and very easy to watch. I highly recomend. don't waste ur time or money trying to find a better version of this movie, I'm convinced there isn't any.

i like that it was delivered promptly and not damaged

Both hilarious and satisfyingly macho. A vision of a mensch, Terence Hill's blond, blue-eyed gunslinger is who Clint Eastwood wanted to become--totally modeling himself on the former actor's persona but never eclipsing him. The Italians do the Wild West better than any American filmmaker ever has.

Another good Hill/Spencer movie. Not as funny as most of their movies. This one was a little more serious.

This review refers to the DVD from WHAM! USA. It's a full-screen transfer of a widescreen movie, and the print is crappy. Buyer beware. One wishes for better.

Lordy this is the first of the best, and i mean the BEST, the GREATEST of all spaghetti western trilogies. This, then ace high and them boot hill. Forget leone and clint, they are second rate compared to this magnificent set.

My husband is very pleased as he likes Terence Hill and Bud Spencer films.It's nice to find films that he has'nt seen before.

I really liked this movie... A real spaghetti western and a definite "must have" for Terence Hill and Bud Spencer fans and collectors.
