Not sure I understand. The bands stretch and stay on nice and tight. I send them thru the dishwasher and they're fine. My issue isn't the bands. The cup taste like a cheap set of eating utensils. You know that metalish tasting whang? My kids don't seem to mind tho. They fir their hands well and the bands give a toddler a good grip.

Q: Can you put hot coffee in these?

I would say no...because there is no insulation.
