is this st2000dm001 new or used and what is the differance between the baracudda and the desktop HDD ?

The one I bought was brand new. In regards to the difference, I do not know.

Amazon is indicating it's not sure this will work for a lenovo think centre m93p tower, so just curious if anyone know answer, thanks.

According to the Lenovo website: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/pd027529-detailed-specifications-for-thinkcentre-m93-m93p-mini-tower-form-factor The Think Centre M93P tower supports: ----- Hard drive features 7200RPM Serial ATA supported Supports 250GB, 500GB, 1TB and 2TB ----- So yes, a 2TB 3.5" Internal Hard Drive with SATA (Serial ATA) connection will work just fine.

Is this st2000dm001 or the st2000dm006 shown in the picture?

From ALL4COMPUTERS you will get the ST2000DM001 Seagate 2TB drive.. 2 year warranty also

Is the st2000dm001 new or used and is the baracudda and the desktop hhd the same thing?

Probably used! I bought one a couple of years ago and installed it, and realized recently it didn't ever work properly. The date of manufacture was 2013. Seagate did not recognize the seller, and thus I had no warranty protection. I advise you to buy it directly from Seagate.
