White pepper- What’s to say?
It is white pepper. A slightly different, mild flavor from regular black pepper. I liked it but thought it would have a little more flavor. It arrived quickly and was packaged well.

I could not find the spice I needed at my local store so I relied on Amazon to solve the problem. McCormack spices are awesome. Fresh, tasty and numerous choices available. Receipe was a success

This grinder is glass and is a permanent pepper grinder
I bought this not being able to tell if it was just white peppercorns in an actual grinder, or just the peppercorns. Turns out the container is glass, a big plus, and the strange top is a good pepper grinder with a little round lid. If you take the lid off, turn it upside down, hold it in your right hand, and turn the slightly knobby black top you will get a good grind of pepper which you will be able to hear and see. Since I wasn't sure it was a grinder I bought another one, too, an OXO. This one just gives you a good sized grind, the OXO has measurements from very fine to coarse. I am glad to have two, actually, because I keep black peppercorns in one, and white in the other. We are paying attention to oxalates and it turns out that white pepper doesn't have any and black has a lot. So we use black sparingly when it must be used and are accustoming ourselves to using white pepper as much as possible. The choice of countries the peppercorns come from is also something to watch. McCormick comes with white peppercorns from Malaysia, which is the cleanest. I ordered a large one from the same company that is white, also from Malaysia. I have a list of spices that were tested for heavy metals etc, and McCormick comes out with flying colors on all of them. Avoid ones from China which are full of everything you do not want to ingest, and India, even if it claims to be organic, well, they try, but, like China, their air, water, and soil is polluted. VietNam may well be fine. All I really know is that that from Malaysia is the best. Organic brands of peppercorns do not always mean they are free from heavy metals. It just means they haven't been grown with poisons, but the organic companies do not check for heavy metals. I have bought Frontier for decades thinking they were free from contaminants but the didn't even make the list for being free from heavy metals. Until I see their test results I will be buying from McCormick, and Simply Organic which also has spices without heavy metals.

Great and simple to use spice
If you are someone who enjoys Asian or other cooking that includes white pepper, this is a great tool. A wonderful gift for those who are upcoming chefs. If you are a cook, you may also enjoy this.

Love
I use white pepper instead of black in all my meals. This grinder brings a freshness to the white pepper I never had before. Definitely never going back.

Not always available even on Amazon
The best pepper I have ever had and tasted and want all the time. And since it's not always available I buy peppermills at a time so I don't run out. I think I currently have like seven of them I do not consider that to be too many. Don't be misled by Szechuan peppercorns it is not that hot and I think it also has coriander in it which is delicious. It is the best I put it on almost everything I eat so good. I think everyone should buy some especially you. Just kidding but everybody should buy some

Subtle flavor in dishes -- made popular by KFC special recipe!
I never really gave much thought to white pepper until I heard about from KFC's secret recipe in an online article. Now, I'm not saying I'm a fried chicken connoisseur or anything, but if there's a chance that I could recreate that finger-licking-good flavor in my own kitchen, I'm all for it. So, naturally, I picked up this White Pepper Grinder and gave it a try.I'll be honest, when I first opened the jar, I was a little underwhelmed by the scent. But as soon as I ground the white pepper and added it to my dish, I was blown away by the flavor. It's definitely more subtle than black pepper, with a slightly earthy and floral taste. It worked really well in my stir-fry, adding a hint of warmth without overpowering the other ingredients. But what I really appreciate about this product is the grinder. It's easy to use and feels sturdy in my hand. I also like that it's refillable, which means less waste in the long run. I'm all about re-usability, so I like that when this runs out, I'll be able to buy more white pepper to refill the container with.Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase of McCormick Gourmet Global Selects White Pepper from Malaysia. It's a versatile spice that I can see myself using in a variety of dishes. And who knows, maybe I'll be able to crack the KFC recipe one day. If not, at least I know I've added a new flavor to my spice rack.

Citrussy pepper in a handy grinder? yes please!
I "discovered" this grapefruit-scented pepper on a friend's table in Montmorency, France (near Paris), and was thrilled to find it available through Amazon, especially since fancy spice purveyors in Chicago don't stock it. It's terrific on salads, fish, chicken, pork steamed or sauteed veggies, fruit, pretty much anything that can take a citrus-pepper punch.
