Save your money
I had a scanner in the late '90s that scanned biz cards with a high degree of success, but the connector was obsolete for newer computers. This device held promise as a smaller replacement, but it's been a disappointment in so many ways.- The user interface is not only not obvious, it's inconsistent, and almost(?) random in the screens that pop up.- The scans are error prone: In scanning 20 cards, about 19 had errors that required manual fixes.- It is slow, which made the above experiences more frustrating by a large multiple.- Exporting data to gmail contacts was a no-go.- The tech support is non-existent. When I detailed my problems, then sent what looked like a many-times-copied set of instructions that was no help whatsoever, and a follow up was ignored. This would appear to be a cash cow for the company that has a very limited future with the advent of phone apps designed to trade cards on the fly, whether by proximity, scanning QR codes, or other means.

DONT BUY - really look around
Long time software Exec, just wanted something to scan business cards. After 4 days (that is correct) Ambir was finally able to get this to just scan. Still won't store information correctly, the software is a joke, no easy way access settings, the pitch is 3, which is too small to read. No one could tell me why. The Outlook integration doesn't always work and the Salesforce option is worthless, with no options. As someone who has a whole career in software I would be embarrassed to come to market with a product like this.

OCR Software is at best, flawed
Single biggest issue is the OCR software is very flawed on basic card reads. Requires significant editing that becomes painful if loading more than a dozen cards. Additionally, it is nearly useless for foreign business cards (EU, South America, etc.)Lastly, the unit itself is fine but for some reason requires you to push scan for each and every card, instead of being able to recognize there is a new card and auto scan (prior systems did this). Again, not an issue for a few cards but gets to be a hassle when uploading dozens.
