Symbol LS2208 Digital Handheld Barcode Scanner with Stand and USB Cable, Black

This product works PERFECTLY as soon as you plug it in (It's corded so the "Battery Life" rating shouldn't be factored in. This is a five start product). There was no setup required. We never really used the stand, but we did try it out. It works perfectly as well (we just don't have the room on our front counter for it). I highly recommend this product!

I took a chance purchasing a 'non-Square' barcode scanner to use with my Square Stand and was THRILLED that it WORKS perfectly! highly recommend! Makes my checkout process so much faster! When the scanner rests in the cradle that reader light stays engaged for scanning (kind of like at a gas station). I prefer to NOT have it resting in the cradle which helps extend the battery life!

We have a Motorola Symobol. I learned they were discontinued right after I decided I needed another one. This one is not the same quality. It does not scan as well as the Motorola. I tried to use it on our P.O.S. but had to remove it the same day because there were too many bar codes it couldn't read. I put in on a receiving computer where the inconvenience wasn't holding up my checkout lines but it is now dead. I received it August 12th it is dead on October 20th. I am thinking this is a counterfeit. It certainly isn't the exact replacement for the Motorola Symbol. It is not eligible for return. Buyer be ware.

There are cheaper options, but this is a robust scanner that works seconds after plugging it in and continues to work if dropped a couple time. Reads bar codes well. Cheaper scanners have issues loading their software, do not read bar codes consistently, and seem to freak out if dropped.

Of course my POS went out just when I needed it most. Had to order these to replace and happy they could be easily installed. They worked great with my POS through a busy seasonal business.

Works great and easy to install and set-up. I'm not sure if other scanners can do this or not, but this one did not scan the barcode someone had on their phone that we needed to use. We only tried this one time so it might actually work, just not on that phone. If that's something you need in your business or work I would dig deeper to see if others are using it that way.

Use it with my square set up and it works great. I also use in on my windows 10 computer and it works great. didn't work really well with one of our older laptops that runs windows 8 but I attribute that to the computer and not the device since it works great with everything else so far. Makes adding inventory to our systems so much easier

Connectivity issues due to the connection with the cable to the scanner. Have resorted to a mechanical electrical “bodge” to make it work about half of the time. Unable to scan all 1D barcodes like what would be expected from an LS2208 - able to use a different vendor’s scanner without issue.

Dejo de funcionar a los 4 días de uso, prendía pero al pasar el código no se capturaba nada. Ya había comprado uno igual hace 2 años que sigue funcionando, el cual me costo el doble que este, ahora entiendo por que los están liquidando.

Reads well from paper, but not from the mobile screens.
