Wow!
The very best simple and compact radio for the price. Only problem is you have to have tiny fingers. I wish there was a radio like this with higher power and with the a higher point. Buying a separate amplifier makes things more complicated. The only criticism I have is the very weak tilt stand especially when you purchase the fan accessory. I eventually purchased a tilt stand From a third-party.

Husband loves it
Requested as a birthday gift so I found this on Amazon and ordered it. He is absolutely thrilled and loves it. I have no idea how it works but he has nothing but good things to say.

Really good value for an entry level HF radio
Has all of the features I need for portable ham radio HF operation at a reasonable price. CW decoding works quite well. The band scope is a really useful feature.

After time with it, Would not buy again.
I had been considering this radio and other Xiegu for some time. I wanted to make another go box so I purchased the G90. I have a few radios to compare and it just doesn't hold its place. This radio gets easy enough to use very quickly, but it's just annoying to use. I did put a better tuning knob on it and helps a lot scrolling frequencies. You have choices: an McHF is by far a better radio to me. The screen on the g90 is just too small. Other reviews will say it's ok but it is not. The waterfall is terrible and almost worthless unless you get into the menus and adjust it for each band. When set on auto the waterfall doesn't hold up to a 19 dollar stl with free ware. There is a gain setting in there but like everything else on this radio it's a menu dig. I have a Yaesu ft817, and the McHF to compate it too to be fair, and did not use any better or base stations. The g90 does receive as well. It is menu clunky to operate. It does not have anywhere where near the audio quality, and again the display is just has micro icons all over it. Try using it QRP outside in the sun and you may as well be blind. It is on frequency, it does work as a radio. So, I give it three stars (tops). Overall , just not impressed. One last annoying thing is the way the front separates from the radio using some 1990s computer plug. Sorry for a bad review as typically I keep things upbeat but this radio is a hard pass.

Small size Big performance
This little guy has a great built in tuner. Is lighter and can make contacts with those that have good antennas. Get the fan add n if your going to broadcast a lot.

Value for your money
You can not find a better value for your money in the HF radio world. I am surprised how well this little radio gets out. I have this packed in a gobox along with the XP125 amp. I used this radio exclusively for ARRL field-day. Used it exclusively for 13 colonies QRP and got a clean sweep. Man this radio rocks for the price. I own more expensive radios IC-705, IC-703, Yeasu 991a etc. but this is my goto radio. I have several go-boxes this is the one I grab most for POTA and field operations. I like this radio so much, I purchased another one to keep on hand as a spare or just-in-case radio. You can't do that with the more expensive ones. I get good signal reports and clear audio reports with the stock mic. Sub $400.00 radio with built in antenna tuner that has excellent reception? What's not to love? If you're on the fence about the purchase of this radio, pull the trigger you won't be sorry.

This Amateur HF transceiver is the best!
This is an excellent HF transceiver. Well laid-out with one of the broadest antenna-tuners built-in. All you need to add is a 9:1 Unun (sometimes called a Balun), a long wire antenna and an artificial ground.
