So far so good, a plus for a rimmed tank
<24 hours after setting up> Apart from the fizz of the bubbles working their way into the collection cup, the skimmer works at a whisper. There was a cloud of micro bubbles from the bottom of the skimmer at first, but these were mostly cleared up after 8 hours, and completely clear 24 hours later. The slightly forward placement of the collection cup, as well as the spacers for the magnets that were included, allows you to easily use the skimmer with a rimmed tank.

Absolutely GREAT
Best skimmer I’ve ever used. Works wonders.

GOT BUBBLES!?
When I 1st turned this on, the bubbles were horrendous and the collection cup was filling with water, not skim, every 15minutes! What I discovered was the instructions are just poorly written and vague with regards to the "WATER LINE" and what it does so listen up. 1st I recommend you take the unit apart and make sure everything is tight and secure. My unit wasn't clipped in completely allowing bubbles to escape the sides. Once I ensure everything was tight and hoses secure I Lifted the unit (lowers waterline) until water barely cascaded down into the skimmer. It made a HUGE difference. My 1st 12H of break-in involved taking the lid off the cup, lifting the unit, until bubbles rose 75% up the center tube. I placed the lid back and waited. Over the next 12-24H the Microbubbles settled and eventually vanished.I'm still in the Break-In period but this morning I was greeted with a cup filled with green/yellow SkimMate!

Looked used, cheap extenders,
I was really disappointed with this unit from the minute I opened the box. To me it seemed pretty flimsy, the magnets, though they were strong enough to hold the unit inside the tank, the magnet extenders that’s came with the unit had broken, and frankly the unit took up to much tank space. Also in order to clean it properly you have to remove it from the tank and take it apart so placing your rock and coral next to the skimmer may not work. I can not say anything as far as it’s performance because I could not use the extender.Just an update: After reading the reviews further, I have discovered that many people have complained about these magnet extenders and the little tabs they to hold it all in place breaking upon assembly for your tank. We have returned the skimmer and have asked for a refund but have had no success in getting our money refunded. So we have no skimmer and no money. If you return the skimmer please make sure you take pictures of it. I wish I had as it is their word against mine.

so far everything seems perfect except that the model I got had different (exterior) ...
I've had this skimmers for two days now. I disassembled it to rinse it with warm water( as many suggested), put it back together. so far everything seems perfect except that the model I got had different (exterior) magnets than the one in the instruction booklet, they still have the tunze engraved on them, didn't get the rubber pads that you're supposed to attach to the magnets , instead I got a piece of Velcro. the prong on the (interior) magnets and the extensions are very fragile ( must be very careful when attaching them), I do see myself having to glue them in the near future because the unit is a bit wobbly !I got it running for couple of days so far, and I am having bubbles leaking from all around the unit ( top, bottom, sides, back front...you name it!), wherever there is a joint on this skimmer the bubbles are leaking from it... I checked with my local fish store ( who is also a dealer for Tunze) recommended that I contact the company for that, and said not to try to fix anything. So this is going to be my next thing to do after writing this review, contact the company and I'll post their respond here ( as is).and keep you updated.I gave it 3 stars because of the poor quality of the materials used in this unit , it feels cheap, I think they could've done something better for the price. especially for a German product.
