Visual Scientifics inclined plane and car is used to investigate static and kinetic friction, dynamic equilibrium, unbalanced forces, and work-energy theory. The plane and car can be used to predict velocity and quantify friction as a car is rolled down the ramp, or measure the acceleration of the car as it is pulled up the ramp. The kit includes an incline plane with track, car, mounting rods and hardware, pulley attachment, and nylon cord for hands-on experiments, and has steel construction for durability. Steel is a good general-purpose material, with better weldability and increased rust resistance over wrought iron.
