Smart fan, customer service responsive, but mechanical noise -- UPDATE
This is a smart fan. Can be controled through the app or the remote control. It has advanced features like wind (natural) mode, reversible, dc motor. Light is tricolor. As of a year ago these features were quite advanced for the us market. The problem is noise. Out of the box it made a clanky noise (clak clak clak). I contacted customer service and they offered a replacement right away. The replacement arrived and was quiet initially but after a while it became noisy, as if there was something loose or misaligned inside. My previous experience with DC motor fans is that they are supposed to be dead silent. But this one is noisy. Annoyingly so. You hear all sort of noises depending on the speed and the direction of rotation (summer or winter). After incurring the installation cost twice i just gave up. I can see from the reviews that noise is a fairly common complain. So perhaps stay away from this model and wait for a revised, upgraded, debugged one. I would not recommend buying it based on my experience.UPDATE ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I contacted the company and they again replaced the motor. As of the writing of this review, a month in, the replacement still works as it is supposed to. Very silent and pleasant fan. Can be controlled by its remote control and also via handphone. So i have revised the review from two stars to four stars. Subtracted a star due to the two defective motors but added some credit for the very responsive customer service. The fan remains an advanced design for the US market.

Decent fan, but remote and WiFi not most reliable
Fan looks nice, it's quiet (a little bit of an electric motor sound but nothing overwhelming), and bright. It is one of the few low profile fans with decent lumens and without a directed/low angle light. However, while that is great, it requires the remote or the WiFi app (or Google home) to work. The remote is wonky sometimes working fine, sometimes taking ten presses, sometimes a press flickers the light on and off. Not ideal when that's the only way for someone not using a phone to control the fan.The WiFi through the app and Google home actually is good as you can say OK Google turn the fan off or turn the fan to 6 and it works. However, the WiFi on the first fan died after 24 hours. The app seems to become unresponsive and after deleting cache and data in the app, and restarting the phone, cutting power for 10 minutes, nothing. I even tried re adding the fan but it wouldn't even add it.I received a replacement. Their customer service was good (it's Amazon and was under 30 days...). The remote was slightly better (or maybe lowered expectations...) but still not reliably and WiFi connection worked again... for 6 days and back to frozen WiFi. To be clear, it isn't my connection as I have a fire stick which streams HD fine 6 feet away from it.Note, I bought a more well known brand from a big box without the smart features and the remote worked as expected. I have this a two bc I do actually like the fan itself... when working, but only a two bc clearly it has reliability issues and because of that it also wastes your time.

Customer service is good
Initially the remote did not work with the fan. Fan worked beautifully with Alexa and the app.I reached out to the company, they supplied a new remote and circuit board. My electrician had to pull down the fan to install that..but everything now works. Sigh of relief

Great fan for a large bathroom but
Update. Had to lower my rating from 5 to 3 stars. Here is the issue, the only one. If there is a power interruption, when the power comes back on, the light comes on. My wife thought the fan was possessed. In fact I called customer service and they stated that they are manufactured that way to let the custome know the fan is powered. Well, that's ok if we are home BUT we spend 6 months at our other home. Hate to think that light would be on for 6 months. My Fanimations fans do not do this and I may just replace this one.I say bathroom as it is quite loud on the wind factor. I use Fanimation in my bedroom, they are whisper quiet. This fan does move a lot of air.

Honestly really happy with it has some flaws though
Super bright! Some of the fans that look similar to this in stores aren't nearly as bright. The max lumens they advertise is probably accurate I was skeptical at first. The mechanical installation was simple no problem there. The biggest issue is pairing the remote and smart features. It took alot of patience to get the remote paired. I ended up holding the remote directly next to the fan and rotated around while going through the pair procedure. It somehow worked! Maybe it's a signal issue while pairing. I recommend hardwiring the fan and replacing the switch with a blank. Ive had it for a couple months now without a single issue. Google home works flawlessly but only can control on/off of the fan no speed/brightness. I wanted smart features and something to fit a Scandinavian style decor for under $200 and this fit the bill.

What is wrong with this fan?
Multiple issues. The instructions don't tell you how to install it. When it comes to the wiring part — the most difficult part that need the most thorough instructions, there are none. You have to figure it out on your own through trial and error. Secondly, thebarely works. The fan will only will respond if you hold the remote really close to it...which defeats the whole purpose of having a remote. Lastly, the fan will pair to your devices, but it won't work with them. No response through the mobile app. Just all around garbage, unfortunately.
