Its about your individual preference, each tube has unique sound.

Q: How do you change the tube?

Good question. On each side of the unit are 4 tiny screws in the corners. Remove all 4 screws on both sides. The top and sides are a single piece and lift right off exposing the tube. Easy to remove and replace. Same for putting back together. The tube it comes with a good tube. I found a 1980s Brimar tube that really warmed the sound and the stage. Good luck. You need it picking tubes but the install is easy and hard to mess up once you see it with the top off. Oh, don't lose the screws. Bub
