I've been looking for a deal on a clean bay 111 shade for awhile and this is the best I've come across. You can tell the difference between a genuine rollei shade and this one and the one I received does have a few irregularities in the finish, but nothing too bad and nothing that will affect the function. I am a bit of a rollei/leica snob and will probably keep my eyes out for a clean rollei shade at a great price but seriously, for the money, if what your really want is something to shade your lens, this is amazing. I ordered the strap as well and was not as impressed with it but that is for another review.

I purchased this item to protect the "taking" lens on my Rollei 2.8D TLR camera. It arrived in a timely manner and was packaged in a small box labeled "Made in China." "Made in China" does not appear on the lens hood.The lens hood snugly attaches to my lens. The hood with its black powder paint finish looks nice on the camera. And most importantly, it protects the lens when the lens cover has been removed. Of course, the hood also helps to prevent stray light from entering the lens.One caveat... Within the technical details of this item is a descriptor stating that this item is "All Metal Design." I'm not sure what the creative writer thought "design" means because this item is not all metal. The hood is metal. The small band around the actual bayonet portion of the item appears to be polished aluminum. However, the portion of the bayonet that actually connects onto the metal bayonet mount of the Rollei's taking-lens appears to be black, hard plastic. It seems to be well made, but it isn't metal. Buyer beware since plastic can, and will someday fail.Aside from that, the item works for me and for my needs.

Great little hood. All metal construction, snappy fit and good finish makes this lens a great deal. Yes aluminum is a metal and i do not see any part of this hood that is plastic as another reviewer states. However, do not expect a Rollei quality product here. Its hard to beet the real thing but considering te price difference this hood does an outstanding job. The only thing i miss with this hood is the Rollei logo

BEWARE - This hood is not meant to work with the Rolleiflex 2.8 FX. It will mount but is off enough in tolerances to not come off because of inadequate clearance. I had to cut through the mounting ring after removing the hood from it (unscrewed the tiny screws holding it to the mounting ring). Do not buy it for this particular model.

Unlike many aftermarket sold online this hood shade is not plastic but is metal. It fits the camera well, mine is a 2,8 FX, and does not leave any drones at the edges of the viewing field. the mount is also well machined. This particular one is sold at a very realistic price. A real keeper.[...]

Great fit on my Rolleiflex 2.8F with a very solid metal construction.The Fotodiox hood performs well with good authentic styling.

I purchased this lens hood for the Rolleiflex TLR 2.8 E, but it DOESN'T FIT! The item I received is quite obviously designed for a completely different camera model. Sadly, this is now the second time Fotodiox has sent me the wrong item. Two out of three incorrectly filled orders constitute an unacceptable error rate.

I have not used the lens hood much whilst out and about yet but can say that the fit and design are perfect. What strikes you when you unpack the item is how solid and well made the hood is. The bayonet III fitting fits very well on my Rolleiflex 2.8f and I can wholeheartedly recommend the product to others.

The product was bought for use with a Rolleiflex 2.8F camera which it fits very well. It is also well made and looks good. Some 'independent' camera accessories are unsatisfactory because they either do not fit correctly or are not robust enough to stand regular use. This one is fine!
