Yugen Classroom Standard Pocket Chart with Large Back Organizer for Sight and Flash Card Storage - Teacher or Homeschooling Teaching Aid

The chart is very big and I liked that. But the plastic rows were flimsy and stretched out. I wouldn't recommend hanging it on a metal rod because I imagine your inserts or cards would flop out. I cut my chart in half and propped it against a wall to use it for scheduling purposes. I had to glue gun the middle of the plastic rows to the chart (blue part) to add support. The chart itself (blue part) is a thick sturdy material and the pouch on the bottom in the back of the chart is helpful.

This is the worst pocket chart I have ever purchased. The plastic that holds the cards was so stretched out it would not hold a thing.

it is great for making charts

I was very excited to use this pocket chart. I do homeschooling with my preschooler, and I felt this would be a great addition to my teaching materials.I was very happy with the size of this chart, and the layout of the pockets. I was also made of a heavier material, and pretty easy to hang.Unfortunately the overall quality fell very short for me. The blue backing of this chart is nice, but the plastic used for the pockets feels pretty cheap.Freshly out of the packaging the pockets were stretched out and unable to hold any of the cards I have. In the photos, I am using some cheap (very light weight) alphabet cards, and they would not stay upright. Even when I used a strip of paper, it still fell forward with the pocket. I can only imagine that over time this issue would become worse.Fortunately for me, I received this chart at a greatly discounted price (not free), so I'm not loosing out on too much. In exchange for my discount, I am required to leave an honest unbiased review. So in all honesty I am not happy with this chart. I did attempt to return the chart, but was told to hold off by the seller, and now it's too late to return through Amazon.I did maintain communication with the seller, who seemed understanding and helpful. I was told that the product was being recalled and redesigned, and that I possibly received a defective product. At this time they are unable to send me a replacement, but I was told I would get a redesigned model when it becomes available.As it stands I would rate the chart I received, one star. I am giving three stars for the helpful customer service and the understanding that I will be receiving a new chart. Once the new chart is received (or not received) I will update my review and rating accordingly.

While the blue material and rivets are a great quality, the plastic is horrible! I actually ripped it just taking it out of the package, which was quite disappointing. The plastic is very very thin and pliable, so if you wanted to use this you would need to be extremely careful with 1) what you put in there and 2) how you take things out. I definitely don't think you could use this around children. Overall I'm extremely dissapointed in this product. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. The review above is completely my own personal opinion of this product after receiving it and using it. I only choose to review products that I actually want and that I have a genuine use for so that I can provide thorough and honest feedback on the product.

The media could not be loaded.  As an elementary school teacher for the last 20+ years, I feel I've used virtually every teaching tool and pocket chart out there....some great, some not-so-great. While I have a couple of pocket charts in the room of my 4th grade class, I didn't have one for our weekly vocabulary. I knew it would have to be a fairly large chart, and simply due to a lack of time to go to the local teacher store, I just never bothered to get one. The vocabulary words were just written onto sentence strips and attached with a magnet to the white board.This Yugen Pocket Chart caught my eye because it looked large enough for my purposes....there are 12 vocabulary words, but each week the students use sentence strips to draw a picture representation of each word, so not only would I need room for the words, but for their pictures too! While this chart has "only" 10 pockets, it's really 20. Each long pocket is broken up into 2 with a nice, firm seal. That still leaves plenty of room in each of the (now 20) pockets. As you can see in my video, I have plenty of room for the words, the students' picture representations, a title, AND pockets to spare! Add to that the velcro-closed hidden pocket in the back for storage, and it makes this the best pocket chart I remember having -- in over 20 years of teaching!I did receive this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. Please understand that this discount did not affect my review at all. I am always honest when reviewing products, as I too rely on these reviews when making decisions on what to purchase. My wife and I are both teachers and we'll be fighting over this one. :-)It's much larger than I expected, definitely a lot of uses for this. It would also make a great holder for calculators, as long as they aren't the large and very heavy type.PRO's-*Lots of space, much larger than I expected and about as big as any I've seen*Color is also very vibrant, and blue is supposed to be calming... a big plus to any teacher I've ever talked to... :-)*Seems really sturdy, and well built. Grommets are large and strong.CON's-*Due to the longer width of the pockets, heavier items, like TI-83 calculators would be a bit too much for this, probably.I am definitely glad we ordered this.
