Earth, Spirit of Place: Featuring the Photographs of Chris Hadfield

If you are a photo nut and a space nerd, you need this book. Chris Hatfield is an astronaut and accomplished photographer. What a great combination. You will not be disappointed.

I purchased this book for my grandson to go along with "The Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth" which I had read. Since it was a birthday gift, I had it mailed directly to him and never saw the pictures in this book. After reading the other book, I felt this would probably be quite good also and added it to the gift purchase.

Ordered the book as a gift and have not given it yet (i.e. haven't unwrapped it) so comments are just for the gift wrapping. Don't order this service :(The package arrived with the outer shipping package in perfect condition but when the gift wrapped booked was removed from packaging the gift wrapping was ripped in 3 places. So it was obviously ripped by Amazon employees before it was packed and shipped. Poor quality control !!We had to use sticky tape to repair so it looks pretty tacky now but we are away from home so can't re-wrap it.In addition, for $3.95 I was very disappointed in the quality of the gift wrapping materials. What we got (even if hadn't been ripped) would have been appropriate if the extra cost was about $1 maybe.Disappointed in you Amazon !!

Beautiful book showing the earth from a distant look at its beauty.

I Love everything about the mystery space Chris Hadfield made us allfeel part of his journey and his book gives us an opportunity to relive it everyday.This book has something in it for everyone with the most amazing photography

My daughter was so happy to receive this for Christmas. We followed Chris in space and were absolutely mesmerized by his time in space.I haven't read the book yet but I know it will be great.

The pictures in the book are wonderful but there was a $9.99 from Value Village on the cover , which I can’t take off and I paid a lot more than the sticker price ....what’s up with that.Not sure you should be thanking me for this review .....you need to red what I said ....not a happy customer !

Pictures are great! Nice to be able to view the earth from a different perspective. This book shows incredible detail of the earth we live on and the surprising features that can only be imagined looking from outer space. This book Earth, Spirit of Place: Featuring the Photographs of Chris Hadfield was more suited to adults and academia who have an interest in Satellite photography and remote sensing.

Only a few moire pages left to read. The pictures taken are simply out of this world (literally and figuratively).

Bought this book as a gift and it was perfect.
