Poor quality control.
I usually trust Teaching Tech’s Michael Laws to guide my buying decisions when it comes to 3D printing, but this time I think I got bit...The screen I ordered came well packaged and looked new due to the ESD bag being sealed, but the screen itself was mounted at a bad angle. There is a silkscreen box that is obviously there to guide the assembly tech on how to mount the screen so it would line up with the stock ender 3 mounting bezel - but it appears they totally ignored the orientation of the screen and slapped it on the board however fast they are making these things and somehow it passed whatever, if any, quality control. The foam tape holding the screen is very strong stuff and you would likely break the glass before getting it unglued and remounted. So that is out of the question. The protective plastic film on the touch screen looks like a dog has had ahold of it, so by the looks of it, they are making these things as fast as they can, tossing them in a bin and hoping through volume that some of them turn out ok...Mounted in the bezel, there is a large gap on the left hand side of the screen, and the entire screen is canted at an angle. It looks terrible. There isn’t enough play in the mounting screws to come any where near adjusting it so it aligns.I cannot and would not recommend anything from BigTreeTech at this point. Not worth the hassle of buying and returning stuff in hopes of getting a good item. They need to seriously work on their quality control practices before I would consider buying anything else.

Surprisingly convenient.
At first I was a little miffed when ordering this interface, I had bought a BTT mainboard to replace the Creality one that blew it's steppers do to voltage issues. I had to buy this display as the previous Ender3 v2 display was not compatible without some dodgy rewiring and firmware changes. So I did not anticipate these lovely UI screen becoming the new brains of my printer while the board hummed away as it's heart. I won't go into what anatomy that makes the hotend in this relationship...Humor aside I love this screen that acts like a second control board and it's modularity options.Just took forever to find a display case STL that I liked with it.

Great peripheral for the SKR 3 EZ
Love this peripheral as it works great in combination with the SKR 3 EZ. Easy to use and has lots of tweaking functions. However, in marlin mode, with prints that run over nine hours, the screen will go fuzzy at times. The prints will still finish and there are no deleterious impacts to the print, but initially it did raise some concern. That said, upon finish of the print and restarting the printer, the fuzziness does go away. Not sure if this is an issue with my specific unit, but it does not bother me as it does not impact form, fit, function.

mixed feelings, but its a 'buy' for me
realize that its not as stable as the simple lcd displays. this runs code and its complex code. it has not been updated by the vendor in a long time, even though github source is public and updates to the repo has been done, but no new official bins yet.if you leave it in a mode (old or touch, you have 2 choices) then its pretty stable. my only issues happen when I switch modes and something, sometimes (rarely) causes the UI to hang. note, the print engine never hangs but the UI might.I tend to use octoprint and that feeds data to the printer. I use the touch to over-ride critical things like flow rate and total print/feed rate. also bed and extr. temp. touch screen is nice for that. (backlit rotary is a very nice touch, btw)I expect the bugs to be worked out over time. I half wanted to return this, as its not truly production ready yet (or just leave it in old lcd mode, which is still a nice upgrade over the real/old one) and you won't have to look at white chars on blue, you can change it with this color ui.also be careful tightening the tft touch screen to the ender 3 metal factory bezel. too tight and you won't be able to touch/activate it. back off the 4 rear screws a bit and its fine.overall, a buy, but I would not use it if this was production print farm. for home, its been ok for me.

I wish I'd gotten this sooner
I broke the stock knob on my Ender 3 Pro that is using the SKRmini silent board (which is also amazing and I higly recommend). Looking up how to fix that, I saw others that had had the same thing happen. I decided to try this as a fix. This thing is really well done. Not only is there a touch screen which makes some tasks super simple and understandable (I always wonder which direction I need to turn the knob to go 'up' vs 'down' but with this...I just hit the button). It also has just a really well done UI that makes my 3d printer feel like it came into a modern century. It's like going from an old school LCD clock to a cell phone...it just brings everything to a more modern level. Not all functions are in the touch screen, but...it has an emulation mode for the default touch screen that is simple to switch between. I love the ability to go back to the stock screen or forward to this one. Really well done. And you get a duck.
