Use this as my "green bin" for food scraps and related items. I place this in the under sink cabinet and it works quite well.NOTICE! If you place it directly under your metallic sink, it may confuse the sensor causing it not to close after opening. I have mine placed about 2 inches from the edge of the cabinet door and it works fine.There is an access port on the right side which holds a bit of fragrance and a tiny bag of carbon. Given we use it as a "green bin", it doesn't do much. The opening is a bit small but does the job.The garbage can has a bag retaining ring which is a huge plus. In the picture, it's the black part between the stainless steel body and the white/silver top unit. There is a manual open/close button if for some reason you want to push buttons.Overall, it's a keeper and I've only taken one star off for the small opening. If they did away with the gimmicky scent holder and expanded the opening, it would be FIVE STARS.

This is awesome. I have a motion detection for my garbage can, but I use this small one for my compost. How many times do I need my 2 hands to clean off my plate and have to put something down to lift the gross lid and put it down somewhere. Fits the small compost bag really well. Easy to clean, spray cleaner inside, wipe down and let dry before I put my new bag in. Worth the money.

Très beau et retient bien les odeurs. Je l’utilise sur le comptoir de cuisine pour y placer mon composte. Le détecteur de mouvement fonctionne très bien ainsi l’extérieur du bac demeure propre. Le seul inconvénient pour moi est que lorsque je le place en dessous des armoires le couvercle se soulève comme s’il détectait un mouvement. J’ai dû le placer à côté de l’évier. Mais il est très bien et je ne regrette pas mon achat. Je le recommande.

Update - December 28, 2020Well, about a year and a half in, and unfortunately it appears the lid motor is failing on my unit. The motion sensor still works, and the lid still opens and closes, but it only opens an inch or two. I've tried changing the batteries twice, but no change.I use this as my indoor compost bin. I love not having to manually open a lid every time I need to put compositing material in here. Works very well, and is a good size for this use.
