Robe Factory LLC Minecraft Glowstone 14in Corded Desk LED Bedside Night Light Lamp for Gamers

My 6 year old grandson loves this in his new bedroom. He is a minecraft fan. All in all, I am very pleased with the quality of the lamp and would really recommend it for minecraft fans.

I bought this lamp for my nephew for Christmas and he loves it!

I'll make this review short and simple since Amazon has lately been given to censoring my reviews for reasons which they aren't sharing with me.The overall design is nice and makes a good accent for my daughter's Minecraft-themed bedroom. Construction seems reasonably solid and the color choices are good. It includes an 60W-equivalent LED light bulb, which I was happy to see. Unfortunately there are three shortcomings which drag this lamp's rating into the basement.First and most significant, the lampshade is in the wrong place. If you look at the photos in the product listing the light bulb is basically in the center of the glowstone, evenly lighting it as it should be and looks nice (even the assembly diagram shows the bulb in the center of the glowstone). In the actual product the light bulb sits just below the top edge of the lampshade; see my third photo. This means that (a) the glowstone isn't evenly lit and (b) if you have the lamp on a low table, like a dresser or a night table as is likely given that this is a bedroom lamp -- see my accompanying photos -- then you'll constantly be blinded by the top of the exposed light bulb. And since it's a 60W-equivalent bulb, that's a strong light to have directly in your eye. The lampshade really needs to be raised about 2-3" and there's no way to fix this. This is VERY poor engineering.My other two complaints are more subjective. The power switch is built onto the power cord which I've always hated and looks cheap (because it is). Here you've got this nice lamp on the table but the look is spoiled because you have to have a coil of wire exposed so that you can reach the power switch? There's plenty of opportunity to put the switch on the lamp itself but no, because doing such a thing would cost a few cents more and god forbid you sacrifice pennies for quality.And finally, the glowstone lampshade itself is just small. It really needs to be about 20% bigger. Doing so may even correct the exposed light bulb issue but even if it didn't, a larger lampshade would have made this lamp look better.
