Great informative book but consider age and maturity of the reader.Our eldest had the book when became interested in murder mystery genre. She enjoyed it. She had the maturity to avoid more grisly pages if she needed to.A couple of years later our youngest aged 10 took it from the bedroom of the eldest child and was upset by some content. I’m also upset I allowed this to happen.It’s not gratuitous. Not all crimes in the book are of this darker nature. It does include in clearly categorised chapters Myra Hindley/Ian Brady and similar. Words such as rape, torture, kidnap, abuse, parenticide, are used. It’s fascinating, correct and appropriate for a teen.

Great book for the layman. Everything explained really well. Bought for my 16 year old daughter who just started criminology a-level And she found it to be a really interesting introduction to the subject

As a criminologystident this is great fun and easy to read - while it’s no where near close to being an academic text the layout is captivating and text is informative. Would recommend to anyone interested in crime in general as this books covers various aspects and types of crime.
