Pricey: Small Container of Lube. I Wonder If Any Other Lube Would Have Worked?
Used this to oil my door hinge pins, after taking them out of the hinges. Boy, were they hard to remove! Would explain why they had made such loud squeaky noises. After wiping down the pin as best I could with a blue shop vac towel and swabbing out the hole where the pin goes with lots of q-tips, I applied a this oil all along the shaft of the pin and reinserted it into the door hinge. The sound is gone.Of course, I've also done the lazy way in the past and just applied motor oil (yes, motor oil) on the gaps on the outside of the hinge. Then, I'd work the oil into the pin by opening and closing the door several times. While this may be the "incorrect" way, that fix has lasted some 20+ years on one door and 6+ years on another door. "Lasted" is a bit misleading. I had moved out by that time and the hinges were still not squeaking. So, in actuality those hinges might still be squeak-free.A lot of instructions on the Internet say that my way of working the oil into the gaps of the hinge is incorrect. The correct way is to take the pin out and clean it. It really depends on why it was squeaking in the first place. There could be paint, dust, dirt, or grime on the pin. So, cleaning helps. Also, oiling on the outside like I do tends to make a mess. Still, if you're lazy, try oiling without taking the pin out to see if it holds. If it doesn't, then you'll need to remove the pin and clean it.Why did I put this seemingly long dissertation on how to oil your pin? Because I really don't know how effective this product is. Remember: I've used full synthetic 5W-20 motor oil and I've used silicon dry lube from the hardware store. A lot of other people swear by 3-in-1 Oil, claiming that silicon dry lube will dry out too fast. To me, the proof is in the work. The oil worked and the dry lube worked. They both worked, and I've moved out of those places, one after 20+ years and another after 6+ years. So, my suspicion is any lubrication would work. For those stubborn parts that still insist on squeaking after several years, you'll have to clean the area first before applying the lube but I've yet to run into this because most of the hinges I've oiled in in an indoor, clean environment.Yes, $10 for a little container like this seems expensive, when you can get a whole litter of full synthetic motor oil for just a little more. Motor oil also has detergents in it that cleans and lubes at the same time.

Works like a charm
This oil worked great for fixing all the squeaky door hinges in our apartment. No smell and the needle point applicator was perfect for getting in between the tiny metal pieces.

Got a defective unit, but was replaced quickly
I received a defective unit; the nozzle was unable to squeeze the oil out. I asked for a replacement, which arrived in a couple of days, and the replacement bottle worked perfectly. I oiled 3 doors with long-time squeaks and this product completely solved the problem. It was easy to use and left no oily mess behind.

Decent choice compared to the alternatives
I had a squeaking door that was driving me nuts. I had seen videos online where you have to remove and fully clean the hinge pins in order to stop the squeaking, but the last owner had painted over my door hinges so I wasn't sure how hard they would be to remove. I tried other oils to try and avoid having to remove the hinge pins. They might work for a few days but the squeak would eventually come back since I don't think the oils were completely making their way into the cracks and crevices of the hinges. I didn't really want to use other lubricant sprays since I'm sensitive to smells and most of them have odors. They also seemed a bit messy to apply. I bought this since I liked the thin applicator to get into all the cracks and it was advertised as being odor-free and easy to apply. It just came in a plastic baggie. It was easy to apply and odor-free as advertised. It didn't leave a big mess. You basically just direct the applicator where you want the oil to go and the applicator lets you apply a few drops or a thin layer. It did get rid of the worst squeaking. The door still creaks, but it's very minor in comparison to before I applied the oil. Hope it holds out. It seems a little pricey for the amount you get, but you don't need very much at all and the thin applicator minimizes wasting any product from application. I hope it holds up. It seems like a good alternative to removing the hinge pins or having to use a silicone spray.

Amazing!! Works great.
Almost every single cabinet door in my kitchen was squeaking so badly, and this product completely stopped it! I have A LOT of cabinets, and had to use more than a few drops on each hinge for sure. But, even with that it barely used any of the bottle. I highly recommend this, and will keep it on hand if my squeaks come back. GREAT value for a small price.

Life saver!!!
Can I tell you how difficult it is to sneak in and out of a room with a sleeping baby that has a loud and obnoxious squeaky door?! It is awful!!! I just applied this stuff to my bedroom door and I was able to safely sneak out of the bedroom without praying to any and every god that this baby did not wake up! I just applied wherever I could see on the hinges. Probably a little too much, but it’s ok. I open and closed the door several times to help the oil disperse some more and it worked perfectly! Extremely happy with this purchase!

So far …
So good. Not messy if careful, and the door is still quiet after 10 days. Small tip helps.
