Elmo ABC's book, Elmo With Sound (Sesame Street)

Fantastic...loved Elmo's song and collage of letters. My grandson took his alphabet puzzle pieces and matched them up with the first page of letters.

This book is a really cute book and my son loves it. I just wish it actually sang the entire ABC song.

The book arrived damaged, (torn pages and it had no sound), the packaging it arrived in was intact, no rips or visible damage. I contacted the company and they offered me 50% of my purchase price back, stating that they inspect their products before they are shipped. I believe that we are all human and errors occur. I am fine with that! What I TRULY wanted was a replacement book, that was not offered. After I complained I received 75% of my purchase price back. I appreciate that, but this was a book that my grandson wanted. A replacement book would have been the right thing to do. I would have sent the defective book back, but was not given that option. Disappointed.

I was expecting the book to sing the actual alphabet song. It doesnt. Cheaply made.

Don't get me wrong -- we are Elmo lovers in this household and the rule of thumb is that if Elmo is on it, it's golden. Having said that, this book is cute but disappointed us. I bought it for my 18 month-old daughter who is learning the alphabet and already knows many letters by sight and name. I purchased this book because my daughter loves Elmo and I hoped Elmo would help draw her into the story more and hold her attention, thus causing her to study the letters more and reinforce those she already knows. Unfortunately, after the first reading I regretted buying this book. I found myself really having to make a big deal of pointing out the tiny letters that are completely buried in the sentences. I wish the letters of the alphabet were larger and more pronounced on each page. For example, this is how the letters appear in the book: A is for Apple. Maybe A is Elmo's favorite letter? The "A" is a different color but not any bigger or otherwise distinguished than you see in the above sentence. For this reason, the book disappointed me. This book would have been perfect if they would have made the letters much larger so they pop out at the child and make it easier for them to study and commit their shapes to memory. If I had seen this book in the bookstore, even though it has our beloved Elmo on it, I would not have bought it for the above stated reason. Sorry Elmo. :(
