My kids and grands loved the pages out of the first copy of this book that we owned. This new copy is also terrific and now our family is loving it! Highly recommend!

A fun, adorable introduction to Noah’s Ark
This is such a fun book full of pictures you can stare at forever. This is a mostly wordless book that shows Noah building the ark all the way through planting a vineyard after getting off of the ark. A great introduction for little ones, but even older children will enjoy looking at the pictures. All of my children have loved this book.

Fascinating Artwork!
This book is meant for kids, but I think I like it more than my almost-3-year old. The artwork in this book is so thoughtfully created and it really brings the story to life! It shows the reality of what Noah and his family really endured in preparing for the flood, living through the flood inside the ark with thousands of animals, and what all that must have looked like! We see all these beautiful, crisp, clean artistic drawings and paintings of noah's ark--so peaceful and every little thing perfect. Well, if you have to care for all those animals for several months inside a big boat, I doubt everything would "feel" perfect and beautiful. Yes, Noah was very devoted to God and following His instructions, but that doesn't mean it was easy. That's like our lives--we follow God's will for our lives, but that doesn't mean everything will always be perfect or without struggles. This book seems to depict the reality of the flood in the best illustration form I have every seen. You will not regret adding this book to your home library! It is beautifuly executed artwork and even includes some humor!

Noahs Ark by Peter Spier
Thanks for promptly sending this wonderful children's book to me. It arrived in great condition. Though I could never read this book to children in my classroom because of the religious overtones, it made a perfect baptism gift to my granddaughter. I appreciate your working with me to make gift giving easy. By the way, another book that I ordered as a gift to my sister was Three Cups of Tea. She didn't receive it possibly because it might have been mailed out a little later than you normally mail out books and in the meantime she moved from San Diego to the desert. Knowing my sis, she probably didn't leave a forwarding address. Could you locate the book, Three Cups of Tea and send it to me at 267 Clare Drive, Castle Rock, Colo 80108. I've already paid for the book and shipping through Amazon.com, however, I'll be glad to pay the extra shipping. Good luck on this project of finding the book and getting it to me. And, thanks again for working with me.

Beautiful work.
My 4 yr old absolutely loves this book. He begged me to buy it again when he lost the first one he had. He loves the story of Noah and all the animals, so this is right up his alley.Update, my son is now six and he still loves this book. It is almost in shreads but he just adores the artwork. In it. Fromn100s of books we have, this is a favorite.

Pretty good but why not stick to the material?
It’s pretty good but in a few random places it has pictures that directly contradict the source material’s story of the ark. (Noah closing the doors where the verse says “God closed the doors”)it seems trivial but it’s a very important bit of foreshadowing that God is the one that closes the door.

A Beautiful Book with Wide Appeal
The happy and humorous tone of this book will make it appealing to any child, whatever the family's religion. The only text is at the beginning and it is a charming translation of a poem that summarizes the story of Noah. The poem is delightful in and of itself- Spier did a great job of translating. The illustrations are then left without text, which is very refreshing, since there are so few picture books nowadays. I enjoy leisurely paging through this book with my young daughter, talking about the pictures in and of themselves, as pieces of art and as pictures that tell a story. I feel that the pressure is off in terms of trying to finish a sentence or a story when there is no text there. In addition, this book is appropriate for Muslim families as well, since the illustrations (and beginning poem) are sufficiently vague as to accommodate for the small differences in the telling of the story in the Qu'ran and the Bible.

Very detailed pics!
I bought this book when looking for a children's version of Noah's Ark because of the caldecott medal and all the recommendations. I got it for 2 year old twins who have been reading a lot of quite advanced books with me, as we have been reading since they were babies. However, even though this book has very few words (just a page of rhymes) and I can retell the story in my own words (which is cool), the pictures are the sticking point for me. I'm sorry to be virtually the only reviewer who doesn't like them. But small children need clear outlines and clear shapes in order to really follow pictures, and these are drawn quite sketchily and the details are so little and bitty and incredibly detailed and complex that it's not so easy for them to actually follow what's happening in the pictures. If you think of Maisy Mouse, that is the opposite of bitty, so you see what I mean when I use that word. These pictures are drawn very loosely, very sketchily, and not coloured in solidly, so they are a bit tricky for toddlers - there's not a clear enough image for small children to be able to really decipher clearly, compared to say Axel Scheffler's illustrations, which are clear and solid. Despite this I have been reading the book to them and pointing out all the little details, telling them what is happening, to try and help them understand what's going on, and they have been enjoying looking at everything and hearing the story explained in detail. But I am looking again for another Noah's ark book that has clearer pictures. I would say this book is more suitable for age 5 to 6 or so.Also, the book was bent nearly in half when I received it (supposed to be a new book) so I had to get a refund anyway. I will use the money to buy a different Noah's Ark book.

Beautiful
No wonder it has won awards. Obviously, this is more pictures than words (very Raymond Briggs) but it offers lots of talking points for children. Might be a stretch for my 3 year old but she’ll enjoy the pictures nonetheless. The illustrations are stunning and I appreciated the inclusion of the verse at the beginning.

Excellent!
Excellent! Not much words in the book but hence I can explain easily in my language (non English). Described in details and shown some backgrounds that not many kid's Noahs Ark book shows. Bought it for my 24 month old daughter and she loves it. Can recommend without hesitation.
