Six positions regulate how quickly the radiator it's attached to heats up. If you're close to the boiler, slow is good; far away, fast gets heat to the room quicker. In my unit "slow" is not slow enough to keep the room from overheating, but it is the best device available, and reduces excess gas usage.

The media could not be loaded.  Right this moment I'm debating about returning the product. It's shiny and new but it the loud "ding" sound can be heard in a different room, and considering this radiator is located in the bedroom i find it quite disturbing. I'll attempt to connect another unit (total of 3 were ordered), ..and I'll see if the noise continues.

Wasted money buying cheap product from the Depot but then got these and put them in- heating system purrs now and finally balanced. These aren't inexpensive but are great value,

I have used these air vents on radiators for years. One recently failed after about 10 years. (The rest are going strong, about 15 in all.) I bought replacements and they are as solid as ever. These vents are cheap and any price.

A little more expensive than some other brands but I think it's worth it.I had a few of the cheaper ones and have had to replace them much sooner than I think I should have.Very quiet and easy to adjust for proper balancing.
